Hi think its time to give my c8 a tryout after living in its box for the last 12 months but dont want to upset my permanent mount so just wondered if there was a cheap mount i could get that would be ok mainly for photography ,as i believe i dont need to track planets thanks

Hi just a quick cocoon neb,20 mins each of rgb,added the lum but it just blew it out ,any suggestions or advice welcome as always thanks

Hi just wondered if anyone knew how to add ic catalogues to astroplanner as when i look for say cocoon nebula or ic 5146 it cannot find any coordinates cheers

I have Pentax 12x50 which are very capable astronomy binoculars, even if the field of view is on the slightly narrow side. The comet easily fits in this field.
I also have some Helios 8x20, which has a much wider fov, but is somewhat dimmer. On bright targets (such as Neowise) this doesn't matter. Not much use for galaxy spotting though.
For day use, I never regret bringing the Pentax out, but because they're a lot bigger and heavier, I don't often do that. The Helios, on the other hand, fit into almost any pocket, and are good enough for the job.

hi just wondered if it is possible to find and track neowise with your scope and something like sgp ,i know its not possible for me at the minute as its in the north(poor direction for me)but when its not would love to give it a go after some of the superb images ive seen on this sight
