Hmmmm what are you attaching the camera to? And while attached to the telescope or lense can you make out any bright stars via the live view on the camera? -

I honestly have never checked an image on the LCD display as i have only ever used it with APT on the laptop. Are you able to check the memory card for an image via your PC or Laptop? -

I didnt think it was to bad,but to be fair i ve only been doing this since August last year so i dont think im the best judge of your data. But i think the Moon is the biggest problem, after stacking it looked really washed out i used PS and LR to get to the image above, im currently messing with Startools i had ago in that but was a struggle still got lots to learn myself.

@kens thanks for chiming in there my knowledge on this is very limited at the mo, also if I'm not mistaken the gpusb shouldn't be wired in to anything I thought it was a plug and play device so to speak male usb one end and ST4 port on the box
-
My apologies just re-read your first post I was thinking eq3-2 for some reason, gpusb is your interface to connect laptop to autoguide port on the mount I would think for phd2 to do guide corrections. I may well be wrong I'm pretty new to fiddling with mounts myself.

To do what your saying above would need a dedicated Guide cam with st4 port

This may explain more for your current set up
