  1. I'm looking to get one of these as a pier extension.

Thing that concerns me is, doesn't it stop you from using the latitude adjustment bolts on the NEQ6? Because once installed you can't get at the bolt securing the mount to free it off?

So presumably you'd need to free off the bottom bolt and rotate the whole assembly by hand.

    Dave

No it does not mess with your aligning as that is in the main head of the mount and works as normal, all this does is pu a length of pipe getween the tripod top and mount base.

  2. I have picked up a few things from ENS over the last few months and also sold / part exchange some things with them.

Emails have always been promptly replied too, and are very informative.

From collecting and delivering by hand,  to posting or via courier they have always been quick and give realistic delivery times if using postal services.

Steve and Eddie really do know their stuff and are very helpful.

  3. Bern has been great in all his communications especially over the phone, it is great to have a chat as Bern quiet often see problems and issues before you do and most times has a solution.

Al orders have been promptly dealt with and delivered next day.

  4. I have picked up a few bits and pieces from FLO over the last month.

They have answered all my questions promptly, although I did not end up purchasing the original scope I was planning on, all information was a great help.

Delivery was Prompt, emails at every stage of the process.

    Thanks Team FLO !!!

  5. The Esprit 80ED DOES need a dew heater, surprise surprise :D  Spent last night's clear skies doing PA then tried an image session on the Heart nebula but I couldn't get any clear images and when I checked the scope, the object lens was covered in dew.  The dew was horrific last night - everything was dripping wet in the open scope room.

waiting on my dew heater has stopped me from doing anything as its pretty wet here at the mo.

  6. The camera side of the flattener is M65, and adapter is supplied to convert this down to M48.  Which camera do yo have if it's that much back focus?

    Ah ok.

My QSI 638 WSG has a backfocus of 50.2mm without filter, my Baader filters are 2mm thick so this adds .7mm givving me a total back focus of 50.7mm, I currently using a 6mm extension with my Williams flattener which works ok.

If I can find a M65 to T it could work.... time to trawl TS

  7. It interesting to see how different company's deal with stock, some heavily dropship, which can work if you have rock soild suppliers, others always have stock in hand.

The supplier is the key issue here, personally with my main lines i'm of the school of "its on the shelf" but I have started stocking in and making available for sale stock which is due to arrive in the next 24 hours, its not perfect yet as my supplier is not quiet up to speed. but its getting better.

We have started a 100% dropship experiment for a few product ranges, which had terrible teething problems, but they did get resolved and its working ok now. (do wish i was listened to from the get go though as it was all foreseeable and easily sorted before going live....)

Having purchased a fair few Sky-Watcher scopes from various retailers which have been drop shipped I have never had any issues, which does say OVL have it sorted, which is how it should be for an exclusive distributor.

On the other hand when it goes wrong it can be a pain and extra steps in communication can lead to frustration, its a fine balancing act of maintaining customer expectations , communication and delivery.

Regarding FLO, I have always had a good service, (drop shipped, back ordered and in stock next day delivery) even when things have not gone quiet to plan, its all been sorted in the end, which imo is the sign of a good retailer, I do see things from a retailers perspective and understand all the problems and its always interesting to see how people do things.
