I have the flip flat, not cheap but rock solid one of the most reliable bits of kit i own imo.
-
Steve Im really keen to see how you get on with doing this, I have had nothing but trouble with all the automation, and equipment, a sane person would of chucked the towel in ages ago however ill be damned if i give in now !!!

Can you point me to where in their documentation this is noted as I couldn't find any reference to it but I might easily have missed it!
ER..... yeah.... i read on it on the forum, its to do with the weatherstation and the file the aag can generate and telling sgp via the right ascom divice to read that file. (sorry its vague i cant recall where i looked)
I select from the menu "Weather stn:"Ascom Boltwood OK to Open
However if all your interested in is emergancy shut the aag will do this in a standalone way.
Where i woudl ultimalty like it to be is....
Able to check the weather in real time and image if its doable from a predefined set of targets, for which i belive ACP is the way to go. I do belive this is ultimatly the right piece of software. (Personal Expert as you need to schedual)

SGP does support cloudsensors

that ascom driver had me puzzled, there are a few connection options, this hopefuly solves a few problems
-
Sorry I have had no further input past installation, with the moon out the last few times it was clear I was using my C9.25 setup, I hope to have the FSQ rig up soon.

I get the gist that I take one image with the mount and scope and camera in a classical polar parked possition (ccd landscape), then another with the RA rotated 90 degees? moving the ccd to portrait

Installing it in the c:\users\lappy has solved that and the api goes in fine, be aware that if you cut and paste the api text off astrometery.net via a click selection of the text it adds a space on the end
-
Looks like im stuck on inptting the api as python is goving me:
Its 2.7

OK i solved that by opening the file with python (and creating an association, which for some odd reason decided to install in the users directory.... not progrtam files), then create a shot cut to the PPA file on the desktop.
Now the api key does not do anythign when input.
clicking ok doer nothing, however it seem to work by just closing the window with the x in the right corner.

I have downloaded the application, its insatlled, but created no links to access it, how do you use this?

Count me in more than willing to give it a go

I have to admit this app is easing the pain of waiting for me dome as the wall of red reminds me it dont matter anyway LOL

My Sbig ccd has two chips to guide and image at the same time, however it only works with limited software and brings up a whole load of issues if narrow band imaging as both chips are behind the filter.
a dedicted cam for each task is the beast way
-
I think a key issue with the scope is how well it holds focus over the night and also automated focus on filter change.

I ordered a Starsense a few days ago, delivered next working day to have a DOA handset which was replaced at 10.30am the follwoing morning plugged in and working fine.
