  1. No I've turned the azimuth axis as far as it will go and up as much as it will go and still not centred in the image
  2. Doesn't seem to work at all. Pretty off regardless. I'll have another play at some point but it's a pain in the behind lol
  3. Oh I just made adjustment, it wasn't spot on and my heart rate rose quite alot adjusting it lol
  4. This has been the thing that Has freaked me out, but so much simpler than I thought 😊 phew... Now The darn red dot finder - so far off and won't go Left or up anymore
  5. So after a few posts and comments on another thread (what did the postman bring) thought I would get some advice here. I know there's lots in this forum about this already, but thought best to post how my scope looks presently before attempting collimation. The image below shows what it looks like looking through the collimation cap. Now what is out of line... The primary or secondary mirror? 🤔
  6. Yeah can't wait. Going to take me a few weeks to get my head around things, but once I do these are my next targets 🙂
  7. Finally got my head around it and above the head now makes sense
  8. Perfect. Will pick some up at week. Do you keep it in the tube or have you made yours removable?
  9. Where you get your shroud from?Thinking of make one from Hobby foam
  10. Ok, an update and last night was the first night it was a semi clear sky. So sat our with binoculars and sun lounger and finally managed to locate Hercules keystone lol. I know I know I am a little slow at this 🙂 But now I am understand more of the sky it was easier.... I located Arcturus high up in the sky to the right. Vega to the left and scanned a third to the right from Vega and there it was... simples when you see it. Also located corona. The best thing so far is the constellation within Vega.... so clear in binoculars and with the double double star. My next task once I am up to speed with scope is to spend time finding the ring nebula (M57) south of vega 🙂 Pocket sky atlas is brilliant for this!
  11. I took it out last night, but too much orange light pollution so was disappointing, so will need to go somewhere much darker. I am impatient and realise learning a new scope is going to take time and practice. 🙂
  12. Brilliant, thanks for these. Will have a read. Going to set aside some time to really understand it. And as one of those articles says. 'Before starting collimation don’t assume that anything is out of kilter and check each element before adjusting anything. ' 🙂
  13. That's the ones - on the primary. I noticed they are really loose last night because the screws rattle. I haven't started or tried any collimation yet (if it's needed) too scared to adjust anything yet as Not even sure how to do it or if I understand instructions lol
  14. So far I think its pretty decent. Red dot finder is pretty, but I keep playing to see if I can correct it. There's one thing and as I don't know anything about telescopes, wondering if this is normal... The 3 locking screws at the back of the telescope are loose - is that normal?
  15. Finding aligning red dot finder a struggle. But been playing with distant and focusing... And attaching a smart phone adapter
  16. Thank you 😊 maybe in touch as can't align red dot finder
  17. Here's a quick review. So I wanted to buy an adapter for my smartphone to attach it to a heritage 150p. The one I saw was £40, but worried it wouldn't fit on the 150p and that the eyepiece adapter wouldn't be strong enough, so I decided to buy a £8.99 one to see if it would be alright. For £9 I am pretty impressed. The eyepiece bracket is metal, so has a nice weight to it and feels sturdy and strong. The phone bracket is plastic but still feels strong enough. Its not quick release so takes a bit of time to attach but pretty easy with my Samsung s7. My huawei p20 doesn't fit as the bracket pushes on the power button unfortunately. It also has what seems to be two tripod connectors which is a nice feature if you wanted to use this adapter for something else. But overall its nice for what it is. I may buy the £40 one at a later date but for now this is perfect 👌😊
  18. The delivery guy said to me yesterday, 'What on earth is in the box as it says may contain clouds'. I smiled and laughed! Its a skywalker heritage 150p 🙂 My first ever telescope!
  19. Here we call it Sod's law! LOL. lovely clearly nights for 3 weeks - scope turns up and then the summer thunderstorms hit!
