I seem to be following the TVe+1 formula at the moment.

I use binoculars a lot to. Sometimes it’s just the right thing to do, especially when you have to get up early the next morning.

Steve it’s scary 😮 I had a set of es82’s 14mm downwards and an es68/24. Since I went on emergency shifts I’ve been buying almost one tv eyepiece a week. Started with Delos 8, liked it so much I then got.. d14, d10, d8, d6, ethos 4.7, d3.5, d4.5 and ethos 8. Its been a challenge finding some in stock as they’ve not been made since tv closed its factory in March. stopped buying this week (I think). However I have given all but 2 of my es82’s away to stargazing work mates. Still have my Es92’s and a Es 100/5.5 but may off load soon as I’ve got some eyepiece overkill now. Best Buy some food instead next time I get paid. above is the reason I started off this topic. 🧐

Thank you for the reply, the sky surfer V sounds pretty good and is one I have been thinking about. I have been using lightwave RDF for a while. I like the idea of it but the glass coating hides dimmer objects. I also seem to lose the dot and have to move right back to find it again.

Do you use it without a magnifying finder scope? have you ever used the Baader sky surfer v?

I only use a RDF, no finder scope as such. I find this enough for my visual needs. Is there anyone else who takes this route? What do you consider the best RDF for use on its own not including telerads and rigels. I'm trying to keep the rig fairly minimal.
