  1. Hi all I have a question on eyepieces , the telescopes I have are Orion optics 200/1200 newt a bresser 127/1200 refractor and the skymax 180 pro 7.1/ 1500

At this time I am using celestron omni eyepieces and thinking of upgrading to something like the BST starguilder would this be a good upgrade on the omni or do I need to look at something else can't spend loads as I may buy matching eyepieces so I can use my  binoviewer

  2. I was on a boating holiday last week and was chatting to a really nice guy when he said "when I was a kid I used to spend a lot of time with my uncle " who turned out to be sir Lovell of Jodrell bank he went on to chat about sputnik and how after the batteries went dead it was Sir Lovell that use a radio telescope to bounce a beam off sputnik to track it amazing guy Sir Lovell

  3. Hi I do have an extension tube but if you use it with the Newtonian the eyepiece is about 7 feet up so makes it way to high  , I was thinking of getting another one and cutting it down some thing to look into later on

My mate just said to me that as I have a really good Newtonian I will not gain by getting a sct of mak other than it's compact , he also said get a big refractor ??

  4. Hi yes do still have the 200/1200 Orion optics love it but can't do anything over head or it hits the tripod leg even when doing goto you can't be to sure which ways it's going to go and some times hits the leg

The bresser sounds great but may be to long the 127/1200 fits in my car just nice a longer one will be a pain 20210512_194902.thumb.jpg.60598cc79b9d32191c7d844cd0f43916.jpg

  5. Hi hope your all well , I have a question I do enjoy looking at the moon and planets  some times I do fit my small 224 mc camera but my acromatic refractor puts a purple tinge to the edge of the target so was thinking of getting a SCT or MAK I am leaning more towards the SCT but are they worth the extra cost over the MAK

    I do 99% visual

  6. Hi all last night I tried my binos in my refractor 127/1200 using the 1.6 Barlow I got focus on the moon using earpieces from 32 mm down  to a 9 mm all looked ok . I had about 1 to2 mm back focus left

Staying with the 20mm WO eyepiece I can't focus with the x2 WO Barlow but can with my bst x2 full size Barlow waited for Saturn now this is were my problem started I could not merge the images with 1.6 nose Barlow? No matter what combination of Barlow could I merge the image

So is the bino ok or me not doing some thing right . I know Jupiter was low so seeing may have been poor but 2 images  too and no detail at all ?
