  1. Hi I use the 224mc great camera but sensor is small so can't always fit target in . Did first use it with my OO VX8L  which is 200x1200 did get lots of movement and that was on a HEQ5PRO mount

Sorry can't help with the rest of your question but I would get largest sensor you can for the money or may be look at a DSLR that's Astro modded there is one on Astro buy and sell at £180 free postage

There was a rather explosive prom around tea time this evening. With all the activity of late you’ve picked a great time to get a Ha scope!IMG_2102.thumb.jpeg.42533cafb4804b0218a684cd530f8488.jpeg

I can't get photos on my phone so will have to wait till I am home and I will try a zwo 224 mc

Views were good this morning lots to see

  3. 20230515_135743.thumb.jpg.6eb05c52d020dbc8be3efaf8b9f959f4.jpgFirst light with the daystar solarscout. Wow amazing proms were really clear with a nice group of sun spots with a filament just below and to the right shame about the clouds , but just a little test really to see what eyepieces work the 18 bst was about max for full disc but 40,32 mm gave great views 25mm was nice harder to get your eye just right but that was that eyepiece the celestron zoom worked up to half it's range . The binoviewer was a bit harder to get right but I think  it's just getting used to the solarscout first warm up was about 10 mins just as a test I went from full blue to full red end 2 clicks at a time and reheat was seconds

I got the sw solar quest mount after scope alignment to mount it was spot on every time I did a restart with the mount

Worth the wait of 6 days to test it roll on the summer

  4. I think I read somewhere it's still a hard job to attach a camera to the pst , I was hoping for an easy answer but looks like that's not as easy to answer , the Lunt must be better due to its price but is it ??

Solar quest mount is the one I was going to get my HEQ5Pro does not track the sun well

+1 for @Highburymark suggestion. Also @Peter Drew Yes etalon performance does vary.
If you can see the results from a 2nd hand scope you are looking to buy, that is ideal.

I used to own a PST. For 'go outside and look immediately' it was very good. But it didn't take long to find the limits.
My LS60 (pressure tuned) has a bit more setup but produces more.

I found a Solarquest mount really good. You don't have anything like the alignment/levelling of other mounts.
It comes in handy when you leave a scope out all day and you have to move around the garden to avoid shadows.
Though you can persuade your night time tracking mounts to look sunward to save some money.

Hi I was going to buy the SW solar mount with the telescope , just a bit lost what one to get

  6. Hi I always try 100% to buy from FLO , they don't do the 40 Lunt they start at 50 so if I get the Lunt I will have to save up for the double stack if it needs it which is one question ? If the PST which already have the double stack is about same price of 50 Lunt with no double stack is that better ? Hard question I know

I trust the members on here to send me in the right direction

  7. Hi everyone this has probably been asked before , at the moment I do white light with my bresser 127 and Lacerta wedge , I now want to move into HA , i don't have a huge budget so it's down to 2 scopes a PST with double stack or the Lunt 50 Tha b600pt,  if I add a double stack it doubles the price so it's well out of range  , so my question is would the Lunt without the double stack give me better views than the PST with a double stack ??

I will keep looking at second-hand  market for a Lunt with double stack at a good price but they don't come up very often

    Kind regards Neil
