Ok then isn't there a 2inch adptor that also comes with that model then the 1.25 inch adptor? I'm pretty sure it has 2 adaptors
Maybe it will focus that way doesnt hurt to try

The 2x the aperture formula is just a guild line.
Some night u cant go as high depending on sky conditions other times u can go alot more like 50x to 100x power more.
I say go as high untill it get blurry then if it does back down till image clear.

I'm weird if lunt or Coronado wanted to use my images on the internet or website I would want to get paid.
To me in the end they are making money by posting what u did and to me thsts not right without compensation.
I had one time I bought fancy tire and rinse for my luxury car and the place wanted to put my car with the rims on their website. I told them if they are giving me them free or at the very min 50% off and they said no they are not giving any discount for using my image.
So question is y would I do it when it makes them money getting more customers in their place but I paid what everyone does?
Sorry no deal

I only bought naglars in the last 6 months and radians and TV plossls in the last 2 months.
There are lots great ep that are not soo expensive that can work.
Before my TV was using the meade 4000 Japan made uwa and super wide angle which were rated just as good as the naglars so that's what I use and used for many years.

I'm not saying dont buy ethos
Where I am a 21 ethos is 1200 before tax so that's like $1400 for one ep.
I norm tell people match your eps to the cost of your scope.
To me at least I wont spend that kinda money on 1 ep when u can buy a new skywatcher 10 inch dob for like $700.
I also wont get cheap eps for an expensive scope I kinda match them if I can.
To me if I were gonna spend $5000 on like 4 eps j would first upgrade my scopes but again this is my thoughts on what I do or reccomend to people.
But if that's what they really want then that's ok too.

Ya i also like that scope but for what it's made for.
It's not a high power scope it has lots false colour on the bright stuff including the moon and planets but it wasn't made for that.
It's a portable light weight scope wide wide fov. Great for those large extended milky way objects.
Plossls or super plossls are fine with that scope I wouldn't buy anything more expensive for it. Being only 400mm fl u may need a 2 and 3x Barlow but after about 100x power images get soft

Also remember a doublet will cool down much faster than a triplet too and a triplet can be a lot more expensive. Even a doublet 53 scope to a brand new person costs alot to some too much.
An example a 4 inch f 10 acro could be $400 a skywatcher 100f9 evostar costs $1400 with tax. My takahashi 102 TSA triplet cost $5000 with the cradle bar and finder bracket.
A long doublet can give the same level of color correction as a shorter triplet.
So a doublet can give u near perfect images and for visual only theres no need for triplet when your eyes cant tell much difference and it cost 3x to 4x more.
But if u image then the camera could pick up that small amount of false colour so then triplet is reccomend.
Depending what u want to do and spend

In my living room I got like 7 of them 1 or 2 in my room
If u have spouse u probably cant have more than 2 norm 3 at most and probably only 1 in living rm
Most guys have a man cave isn't that what it's made for?

best bet are gotos they have a list to see satellites
u could use a st scope which gives u a wider fov to track it easier but u wiont see detail just a star moving

a 10 inch dob will let u see alot BUT biggest factory is your sky conditions and how much light pollusion u have.
AP cant really be done with dobs cept for the basic moon and few planets or star trails and constellations etc. for anything more u need eq mounts with driven motors or goto mounts

i kinda like bringing my scopes inside its a display for the living room anyway. if your set up is not ap with tons cords wrapped dew stuff and power then it takes alot less to take it down set it up etc. i guess thats y i dont use power tanks either or powered dew sraps its just more items to carry i just want take out tripod and mount then ota then my ep case and dewcap than wait 30 min and start.

My astronomy club mates and myself found that the view in the daystar was a bit brighter than with the Solarmax 2 60mm and the Lunt 50mm, so in my experience the solarscout is a great solarscope for the money.
thats different from my expernce i test my oringinal coronado (before meade had it) to the lunt 60mm verison and i fount the coronado was brighter clearer then the lunts verison.
mine had a bf10, i agress with u on that other part bf5 or lunts bf6mm are both too small.I dont know what size their lunts bf was if it was a 6mm or the 12mm tho but testing side by side on same day u can easily see mine was much brighter i would say 25%

sure least that will get you started on getting the scope in the north direction BUT if u could get it closer to polaris (the mount ) the better.
if u cant then thats ok too it just means you will manually track in both axis, if u polar align then you only have to track on one axis thats all just a bit less work in keeping the item in the ep easier. so if u cant get really close to polaris or the whole north is blocked dont worry just point it north then. i have done it as i face south on my balcony so of course i cant see anything north so i put plop it down facing north where i think polaris could be and thats fine.if later u learn how to find polar in the small dipper then try but its no dig beal if u cant right now.

Hi guys I worked out I need 8mm 10mm 12mm 20mm plossl eyepieces 2x Barlow and poss a 3x Barlow using the eyepiece with and without the Barlow I won't go near max mag of 228
the problem the 20mm with the barlow is bascailly a 10mm ep so theres no point in doing the same power, thats y i normally use the barlow doubles each ep so you know instead if it doubling the focal length

max power is not always needed in fact most times you never go that high as the item becomes fuzzier so you should stay 180x to 200x max
theres only a hand full times that you can go to max or excede it
i just normally go till it get fuzzy then back the power down then you will know for that night conditions

i norm explain it halves the ep focal length but doubling the focal length is the same thing over all
30mm ep if u divide by 2 (2x barlow) is like a 15mm ep
ok lets say the scope is 1000mm fl then thats 1000/15 =66.66 power
if you mulitpy the fl x2 thats 2000mm fl divide by 30 =66.66 power
so both are the same thing it doubles the focal legth of the scope or double the power of the ep
you choose i norm do the ep way

neil i have a video on that look it up, i show a eq2 but its same for eq1 both domnt have a polar finder scope but u can get semi close for visual thats all u need

For that low if a price I would get sw case but that's just me.
In the past I have built my own cases from half inch plywood.

I think u can bolt the vixen bar right to the tube but u may have to take out the spider and 2nd mirror or the primary as well.
The thing to remember tho is 2 things I can think of.
1 if u ever try to sell it u now have 2 holes someone may be ok with that if u can get plugs for it other may want a bit reduced price for it since it has couple holes. I probably would.
2nd if u ever put that on a EQ mount there could be lots angles the focuser will be at that wont be comfortable viewing.
With the rings u could just rotate the tube but since this doesn't concern u really now using it on alt mount them for now it's ok
