  1. It's said to be a rare event to see the lights in the UK with naked eye, especially for us oldies - last time we saw them with the eye was in 2000. Besides this slice from the night's images starts after midnight - slumberland for me :D

Glendale app suggests camera sightings only...

  2. Whilst making changes to my mount/cabling, I took an opportunity to look at what I had on my mount PC (beelink mini running windows).

I decided to take the plunge, this morning, and upgrade the OS to Windows 11, from W10 Pro.

So far the following appear to work, though a couple are reluctant to close down.

    Sharpcap
    Lunt Solar Controller
    Lakeside Focuser
    Pegasus Ultimate Box

cDc starts to open, then freezes trying to start skychart.exe.

That's as far as I've got so far - the upgrade took a few cycles of download/install before it finally completed. It looks different to 10 - cleaner perhaps, though this particular PC has a limited astro use.
Not used in the wild, as yet, it'll be a while before I get myself sorted ( one part still to arrive )

  3. Ah! I'm with you. You have a 135mm lens on a camera. In that case, no the mini won't,  sensibly, fit. Ideally something longer would be better. I have a 400mm with 2x extender and still have plenty of space  on the sensor. Given the price of long focal lenses, a telescope  would be less expensive, and you already have the mini    :D

  4. "The ASI120 mini-camera offers you very good performance for planetary imaging" - highlight quote from ZWO website.

I'm a bit confused by your telescope - but what you use for DSO will work equally well for Lunar/Solar System. Just faster imaging :D
