  1. Love your new website, a nice improvement over the old one. 👍

Thanks Peter, I actually had no option but to re-do it as I use free Google sites and they decided to change the format Inviting us to convert to the new format but I didn't trust that the layout and photos and text would move neatly (and they didn't) so decided to start a new one from scratch.  Gave me a chance to prune and improve it.

I kept some of the elements that people have said they have found useful like my How to Image with a DSLR page.  Also the video tutorials.

      Thanks for your comments.

  2. Just looking at your Samyang 135mm F2 lens set up (attached).

I have the Geoptik adapter but can't fit it on the back without a spacer as the foot of the geoptik gets in the way of the EFW when screwing on.

What spacing does this give you and what are your stars like?

Thanks, I am going to hang on for an EOS to CCD adapter as that locks and doesn't have a foot, and with the EFW I have been told this is pretty much the perfect spacing.

Will use the Geoptik while I am waiting (as it is made in China and Bern is out of stock), and will just use an inserted Ha filter until then.

  3. I don't believe it, a third clear night in a row! :icon_biggrin:

By the end of the night I will now have a total of 29.5 hours of narrow band data for the Jellyfish nebula.  After tonight, I'll aim to get another 4.5 hours of SII data and another 7 hours of OIII data.  Whether I manage this before the seasons end only the weather gods will know.

You should be so lucky, London still hasn't cleared and it's now 12.30am

  4. Just captured 20 X 300 second subs of IC410, only to realise that forgot to turn the cooler on the CCD camera. That's the third time I've done this.  DOH!

  5. Hi Peter,

You replied about me wanting a Canon DSLR offering me a 1000D.

    A few questions:

    a) Does this have live view?

B ) Is it Astro modified and if so does it have glass/baader replacement filter?

    c) How many shutter counts.

    D) Does it come with battery and charger (in case mine don't fit).

    E) How much are you wanting for it?

    Thanks

    Carole

I have found one now thanks Peter.  Not quite sure where I put this post as it didn't seem to come up in messages.

I have a CLS filter but might be interested in the Ha filter.
