  1. Had a couple of nights out early this week , but the seeing conditions weren't to good with a full moon and high cloud .. anyway I managed 6.3 hours total integration time on this subject , using Chroma 3nm Ha and OIII filters .. and 600 sec exposures ..

processed in APP , PS and LR .. using Carboni's action tools to synthesis the green channel ..

the seeing conditions supposed to improve next week so I might hit it again 🤔

That's come out well Brian.   It's green because the dominating Ha is in the Green channel in Hubble palette.  You need to adjust the colours in image adjust/selective colour.  Just fiddle around until you get a colour that pleases you.

I had a little fiddle with your image.

Looks good to me Carole , I will have a fIddle myself later 😉

Was there any one colour you  chose to adjust in the drop downs ?

  3. I started to image the Cocoon Nebula on Tuesday night , using the Ha and OIII already setup in my camera , however when I started to process the image on Wednesday it wasn't going the way I wanted , and would mean changing the filters in the camera to RGB , so for Wednesday night I thought I would have a go at a target perhaps better suited to Ha & OIII .. and the Wizard seemed to be a good option .

this isn't finished as I only have Wednesday nights data , but I'm pretty pleased with the data so far ..

    12 x 600 sec Ha

    9 x 600 sec OIII

So 3.5 hours total integration time ..

  4. Hi , thanks for the comment ..👍

It was quite warm during the night When I was taking this shot and The camera wouldn't go below -15 and I was unsure about the effect the temperature would have . I was considering water cooling , but as it didn't seem to have a detrimental effect I probably won't bother ..

  5. I spent another night out under the stars on sunny Canvey last night , gathering more OIII data of the Bubble Nebula , giving me just over 6 hours of 600 sec exposures with the QSI583..

so I have reprocessed the Ha and OIII data ..  and cropped the image slightly differently..

i have also added a Monochrome of the stacked and processed Ha data .

    😎😎😎😎 Hi Carole ..  😎😎😎😎

i played with this image for ages , it tended to be predominantly orange for some reason . Anyway I want to shoot some better quaility OIII and I will reprocess making it less red 😉

  7. Taken over the last few nights here on sunny Canvey Island 🌴😂..

3 hours of 600 sec exposures , once again Ha & OIII using Chroma 3nm filters in my QSI583.

had trouble trying to cool the camera , could only get it down to -15 instead of the -20 , but it doesn't appear to have caused an issue .

the nice clear skies also gave me some of the best guiding I've had ..

  8. Taken with my 130 EDT and QSI583.. managed to get the bubble with M52

3.5 hours of 600 sec exposures in Ha & OIII

normal processing of APP , PS and LR ..

my OIII data is not as nice as the Ha so will probably take some more and reprocess in due course, but I'm pleased with the result so far ..

  9. Trying to make the most of the very short nights , so added some more data to my M27 .

taken with my Altair 130 and QSI583 with Chroma Ha and OIII 3nm filters ..

processed in APP , PS & LR ..

3.6 hours of 600 sec exposures

  10. Had been gathering data on NGC 6995 before the current run of bad weather here in the U.K. ..

using Chroma Ha 3nm and OIII 3nm filters

    22x 600 sec@  -20 Ha

    12 x 600 sec @ -20 OIII

    5.6 hrs total

processed in APP and PS , synthesised Green channel

  11. Hi Carole , cracking pic ..

im struggling with the Hubble pallet even more than the normal pallet 😂, as most of the data is normally captured with Ha when you assign to the Green channel , everything is green ! Or at least on my images ..😳

Anyway .... super  pic and very nice processing ..😉

That's Nice composition Brian, good to see that you are happy with the mount.

BTW Are your diffraction spikes added after if not what OTA did you use to achieve them?

Hi John , thanks ...  I'm very pleased with the mount TBH  , as you can see the guiding/ tracking  is pretty good ..  the diffraction spikes were added in PS .  I like them 😊.. however , I still need to have another play with these images ..the red version has a lot of green stars especially when viewed  on here .. and I would like to try and get some more goldish colouring on the Hubble version ..

The shots were taken with my Altair 130 .. but ignore the heading on the PHD pic , because it says Celestron .. just haven't Sussed out where I can change it ..

Great capture. Personally, I like red tulips better than green, but both versions look superb.

Green pallet was all the rage at Chelsea flower show this year ! 😉

  14. Been outside this week for 3 nights ,  2 nice and clear one a little tricky ..and gathered 9.5 hours of data for this subject .. using a Chroma 3nm Ha filter , and Baarder OIII and SII filters ..

guiding was some of the best I've had ..

taken with my Altair 130EDT on the iOptron CEM60 EC

processed in APP ,PS & LR ..
