Really nice Laurin! How do you like the ASI2600mc + 135mm Samyang combination and how have you mounted it?
P
Thank you.. I really like it, goes pretty deep even in my Bortle 4/5. Processing is the key to revealing all that it has captured though, in particular the Croman tools: Blur, Star and Noise exterminators. As for mounting, the camera is supported on a ZWO 90mm Holder Ring attached to an ADM Losmandy Bar, Lens connection is via ZWO Nikon Camera adapter and the front of the lens is supported by an ADM guidescope ring. Focus was set in September 2022!

Another Cepheus Samyang135 based mosaic, this time from the Elephants Trunk via the Bat, Squid and Seahorse to the Fireworks. 8 hours of Samyang135ASi2600mc colour data per panel with the Bat and Squid enhanced using 5.5 hrs of Ha data from GT71QHY600 Astrodon 5nm Ha filter and 12hrs of Oiii data from Askar200ASI1600 Astrodon 5nm Oiii filter. The IC1396 panel is colour data only. Data was gathered back in October last year and after several processing attempts over the past year I'm finally happy with it. Processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop using the Croman tools
According to Pixinsight the field contains 3x NGC/IC, 8 planetary nebulae, 4Vdb, 16LDN, 95LBN, 3Sharpless and 27 Barnard objects.... I'm not sure whether they all appear on the annotation.
Image, annotated version and link to Astrobin below

Just viewed it on Astrobin at full resolution and it is just amazing.... so deep in the wings and a 3D effect in the core... I'd suggest you add the link here

Beautiful image Dave! Love the way you have achieved such a large panorama, whilst dropping in data from more detailed imaging. Something I have read about, but never attempted. Thank you for the inspiration.

A great overview of this fabulous region Dave! I thought the Rotting Fish was called the Guppy Nebula but now I am not sure, could be a name I made up myself when I imaged it.
CS, Göran
Thanks Goran... whichever one its called the name is somewhat more descriptive than LDN1251!

Edit: in full size it looks much better probably the compression played it's part on my screen.
Thank you.. I agree Ha was the most difficult part to bring out.. its so so faint so lots of NXT masks and brutal stretching required

Most impressive. 🤗 I've done the Dark Shark and Wolf's Cave area separately with my RASA 11, but it's nice seeing them all together.

Thank you Alan, weather permitting I shall be looking at them again in higher in a months time when we get back form France

Fabulous image Olly... and what a difference the new tools make.. Typo in the title though.. its NGC7129 as per annotation on the TEC image.

Having reflected on @gorann 's comment I've done a re-process, less emphasis on the stars and more on the Ha nebulosity... I think its a bit better.

A great image and you captured it all Dave! Not often seen. I would be tempted to reduce the star field even more with the new XT tools - there is a lot of nebulosity and dust there.
CS, Göran
Thanks Goran... I left them like that as they go some way to distracting from the messy background!

Top job, one of those large “off the beaten track” galactic nebulae done very well! Are you looking for other neglected sharpless objects?
Peter
Thanks Peter... as for other Sharpless objects, not especially, I started this back in January whilst waiting for Orion to clear the roof tops as an experiment with the Samyang...

SH2-126 The Great Nebula in Lacerta. 8 hours each of Samyang135ASI2600mc colour data and Askar200QHY600 Ha data. Data capture started in January with another short session in mid July and finally 5 hours last night. Processed using Pixinsight, Photoshop and Russ Cronan's Star and Noise Exterminators. Does star exterminator work on color data or per channel? This is in red channel only.

Very nice Olly... I had a feeling that you' chaps would be doing this region .. Vlaiv the artefacts are I suspect from Star Exterminator, Olly, did you use the large overlap option? I've found that this option minimises them (although takes absolutely ages) and that they appear more readily when the integration time is short.

A very good start, your bright (and not so bright) stars are saturated so I'd lower your exposure to 30s to start with and see what happens . How do you focus ? If you haven't got one I'd suggest using a Bhatinov mask.

Cracking image so deep in such a short time. Robin.. I'd say it's the bottom middle panel that's the 20 minute still mightily impressive though
