Am I understanding this "correctly" that this "corrector" doesn't actually "correct" anything, it masks out the more severe coma affected outer edge of the FOV correct?
correct me if I'm wrong, whoa! there are many "corrects" here. If i am correct, please refrain from answering with "correct" 🤣

Dizzy is pretty! the fact you have names for your scopes hints you have to many, therefore need names. 😂 Also, I notice you are using the Tak collars which grab and tighten the diagonal and eyepieces, I found the same silver ring just did not hold my diagonal well, maybe my diagonal differs from yours.

Were you using a polarizing filter? cause I find the full moon blinding but then that could be just me.

Whoa, that’s one serious looking rig you have, it must be so satisfying to have an observatory to keep your gear in.

@Sunshine i see you are confused, the resolution in terms of arcseconds has not improved because the wavelength of the light is much longer WEB being a IR observatory and not a visible light observatory. Also I must assume that the pixel size is larger to account for longer wavelength IR detectors.

Yes! I uhhm knew that, yup knew it 😂

Ah! I knew I was onto something, meaning the validity of my query, I mean.
Thanks!

That just works with gold plated telescopes - not with regular ones
Would a sprinkle of gold dust on my objective help? 🤣

My curiosity needs satisfying, is it possible to combine data from one object taken by more than one telescope/user? by user I mean different imagers and not one imager with a multiple scope rig pointing at one target. I imagine several telescopes of varying sizes, filters etc being used for one final image. If possible, would said image not be utterly cracking? In my head I picture 5 telescopes gathering data from different rigs set up for capturing different wavelengths then combining the data. I'm sure I haven't touched upon anything 🤣 my name will not go down in AP history but not being an imager, I am not privy to the challenges of such a task.

Picking up distant galaxies on a star test, now that’s what I call a light bucket!!!
Yes, I have yet to experience that with my 4" 🤣

WOW! looking at the evaluation image after fine phasing is complete, I had to jump for my glasses in order to appreciate all the galaxies in the background, simply astonishing!.
Note: if the image is opened from NASA' webpage it can be then opened in full res.

Looking at them both back and forth trying to make up my mind I am at a stalemate, interesting how two images of one target can be so different from each other.
They're both beautiful!

This is so intriguing, I'm excited to hear what users experiences will be. Though I am not an imager, the fact that a goto mount in both EQ and AZ mode can be had which is so comparatively light and small with Goto is perfect.
It seems like the most grab and go friendly mount, harmonic mounts have been around for a short while but they are very pricey, I hope this works out for those who have one on order, I eagerly await reviews.

This I have seen before with my 102 depending on the eyepiece and the position of the limb within the FOV. On occasion I have seen this slight yellow border (very thin and faint) but I also noticed if I move the slow motion
control so as to bring the limb closer to the centre of the FOV the line gradually disappears completely as the limb moves closer to centre. This does not happen with every eyepiece but because I was never too concerned
I didn't bother making note of the eyepiece. Don't let it bother you, there are so many variables in an optical train combined with atmospheric conditions it can split your head open trying to get to the root.

The is is an interesting thread, though it seems to have stalled but regardless, in my future there surely is a larger refractor and I’ve often thought about the TSA120 vs TOA130. I really cannot see there being such a WOW factor going to a 130 especially considering the thing weighs a full seven pounds more, this is a lot.
