Certainly been a big change from just a couple of years back, the new Spot is huge as well.

A fine set of images, a glorious Summer day today. The new Spot is enormous, it will be interesting to see it develop, if the weather lets us.

Congratulations on your 1st daytime viewing of Venus 🙂
It is easy to find than you think, even without the GOTO. As long as you know the altitude, direction and i find separation from Sun helps me as well.
I have a pair of 9 X 63 binoculars that are pretty left focused on the stars/planets which i use to carefully scan the sky. Once i find Venus in Bino's, i then switch to the finder scope.
The more you look from your location, the easy it gets the next time.

Not easy imaging in that temperature, did well to get anything to be honest.

That is a fine looking close image Craig.
I find it is a trade off between altitude and heat with my C9.25. I rarely use it for Solar imaging mare than a few of hours after Sunrise, it requires excellent seeing conditions especially at the over sampled focal lengths i tend to image at.
What did you use to lag your scope with?

Very nicely captured, good to see you are still imaging.

Very nicely captured, always good to see the difference between the wavelengths.

Very nicely captured.

Excellent start with the 150mm, definitely more than a hint of granulation. What did you use for the close up steve?

excellent set of images, the details visible in animation are mesmerising to watch

A fine collection of images, always good to see Ca-K images.

Hugely over-sampled, but the granulation turned quite well.

Some fairly stable conditions on Sunday morning, tempted me to get the "big un" out again, looking for some high resolution Solar images.
AR3341, 3345 and some reasonable granulation from the middle area. Massively over-sampled to try and get as much granulation as possible.

With the fairly stable conditions on Sunday morning, i hoped to capture some reasonable granulation.
This area is what i always consider the best area, right in the middle, the nearest and facing right at Earth. Pretty pleased how it has turned out.
Shame there wasn't a decent AR in the area. Massively over-sampled with the X4 powermate 🙂

Thanks Kon ,
Once it gets to the point of faffing about with layers and masks then I bow out gracefully ... I might send someone the frames if they want to have a play ... @Pete Presland
You nailed it Steve, it has been a while since i played with the layers as well. I am going to have a go with the 8 frames i have, if get anywhere i will let you now 🙂

Excellent capture. Nice framing over the sunspots. Any ISS transit has eluded me but Saturday morning is promising for my location.
Thanks Kon, the framing was luck of my location to be honest 🙂

Nicely caught Pete ...
I have a similar opportunity tomorrow morning and again on Friday , I'm thinking of tackling it with the EOS 90D and Sigma 150-600 off a tripod for laziness sake.
I assume that the time data from "ISS Transit Finder" is in UTC/GMT ? I can see nothing anywhere to suggest anything different.
I assumed it was as well, seemed to be very close to me Steve. Good luck !

Finally manage to capture the ISS transit the Sun. There never seems to be many from my back garden, so i had to find a suitable place on the somewhere.
luckily there was a layby a few miles away that was perfect.
A 8 frame GIF for the animation.
The best frame from the GIF, with the ISS nicley positioned between the Sunspots. A straightforward single frame saved from the SER file and converted to a PNG and lightly sharpened.

Finally managed a Solar transit, bit of a drive to find a layby on the "transit path"
Very pleased when i saw it whizz past!

Good looking images, despite the issues with the clouds.
