OK I've dropped that APT and it does seem as it a good easy bit of kit it also accepts my dslr and gives control over the camera as well and provides a range of tools suchaas collimation tools etc so I'm looking forward to trying the whole lot together Upto now I've had my dslr on the scope with a cheap attachment that gives you longer exposure times but not been using guiding so the whole setup should give some better results than I've had 👍however forecast is not great up here living on the pennines it gets a whole lot of rain most of the time. I will put up my results as and when I can get some data collected in the meantime many thanks guys it is really appreciated kindest regards Barrie

  4. ahh ok so ive just downloaded platesolve so another software is sg pro is this correct also it may be an issue for me using a dslr camera
  5. Hi Mark yes I am ive not heard of platesolve , please forgive my newbi but how can the scope know where it is without aligning it to the stars

Hi Alacant Well it wasnt but then i decided to try the handset in pc mode and hey presto it works now and ive downloaded the program cartes du i think its called and it is slewing like a good un. so now o need to get a clear sky with no rain get rid of this cold and try to get out and learn how to use the program. thanks so much for all your help it is really appreciated Kindest regards baz

Hi guys OK I seem to have managed to connect up and once connected I hear the ticking of the mount But I do not seen to be able to control the slew with the computer using PhD I cannot remember if I could control it before any information or help I would be grateful guys, thanks in advance barrie
  9. Think the patch lead I need is a 9 pin d plug to USB cable
  10. I'm getting noting on the com ports and nothing connects as I switch the mount on I'm guessing it's the lead connection

Thanks carole the camera is a webcam type that is connected to the laptop via USB and is looping and picking up images so that part is fine The mount is connected via a serial cable to the laptop but will only connect using the above settings I've posted which if the connection protocols should I use is it the heq5 setting or another Regards Barrie

Hi guys I had my set up with PhD a few years back but not done anything with it since however it's getting time to get ready and I've set up the scope etc but cannot get the mount to connect to PhD the only connection I can make to the mount is by using the gpint 3bc or 378 or Gpint 278 if I use the heq5 it tells me the driver is not recognised for com The mount is a synscan eq5 And guidence will be welcome no pun intended Regards Barrie But I cannot remember what I used last time to guide
  16. A few of the ones I took last year New to astrophotography and scope is a skywatcher200p eq5 pro mount Nikon D90 unmodded around 30 -45 seconds exposure unguided regards Baz
  17. Thanks I'm struggling at the min with the cloud but I'm bitten by the whole astro subject not just the photography but the whole lot ? I never knew the subject was so big with so much to learn Regards Baz
  18. Well here are my first-time hits and all single exposure shots no stacking mainly coz I don't know how ? but after My first real night under the stars I'm hoping I can do better, anyway let me know your thoughts Nikon D90 Sky-Watcher 200p Various exposure times
