I decided to stack everything I have on the Pleiades from the day I started shooting it and I have a total of 22 hours and 35 minutes.
457 exposures ranging from 2min to 10min shot with, DSLR (600d), CCD (QHY10) and cooled CMOS (ASI294MC) through my TS65Q.
It took APP 40 hours to stack them all. What do you think?

rotate it till the streaking was vertical or horizontal, then run Noel's Actions on it (Vertical or Horizontal Banding Reduction.)
That's a very good tip, thanks.

Very nice result Emil. The colours look spot on.
Mick.
Thank you Mick. You think? I'm a little unconvinced about all this false colour. I've been shooting osc broadband for quite a while and I'm not sure about the SHO palette. I like colourful photos but I tend to like the red a bit more. I might try to do a bi colour but I was thinking of stacking the Ha with the Sii stacks and put them to red. This way I wouldn't lose the Sii details.

Thank you Alan. I love the close ups too. I recently did a close up on the Butterfly nebula in the Sadr region and I love how it came out. My Cygnus wall is also close up and I like how it looks.

You've captured some beautiful detail.
What made you decide to keep changing the gain and offset? I'm curious as I use the same camera but usually use gain 1 offset 12
Thank you.
I started with gain 16 that I've been using for a while and I decided to drop it down to 11 in the hope that I will not get fat stars in my photos. The difference wasn't that great and in the end I decided to drop the exposure too.
I'm still learning what's best for this camera.
I ordered a baader ultra-narrowband set which I'm hoping it will help even more in reducing the star sizes.
I only got the 3.5nm Ha and 4.5nm Sii and tonight I put them in my filterwheel. The Oiii is not in stock anywhere.

Have just got an EQ3-2 mount with the dual motors. Was hoping to buy a 130PDS to go on it.
Could you advise me on roughly how long an exposure I could get unguided? (I realise this will be down to perfect PA etc but just wanted an idea of what I might achieve)
Thanks.
I don't know if it's any different from the eq3 GoTo Pro that I have but at some point when I started my imaging session I didn't realise I wasn't guiding and I shot a few 300sec before I realised I wasn't guiding. I checked the subs and I was very pleasantly surprised to see the stars looked very good. I was using my TS65 at 420mm focal lenght with my canon 700d.
A lot of people are telling me that I must have the best eq3 in the world but I think that very good polar alignment and balancing can get you far with this little mount. I can easily do 600sec guided with the TS65 and my ASI294MC but the setup is quite light. Here's a 4 panel mosaic that I did with this combination.

Fantastic. That’s stunning and now back on my list of ‘must dos’. Normally I dont like added diffraction spikes, but these ones are very realistic and add to the image.
Thanks Adam. If used properly, the StarSpike Pro can do a really good job producing spikes that don't really give you the fake impression. I had newtonians for quite a while and I'm trying to replicate the real spikes I was getting with them.

I've always been afraid of this target because of the big bright Navi and I had quite a few failed attempts before I got to this result.
For some reason the Altair Tri-Band filter is changing the colour of the very bright blue stars into red and also making a nasty red halo around them. I had to play with the yCas star to make it blue as it should be.
I added the artificial spikes because I thought they would give a nice overall effect to the photo.

Due to moving house recently, my finished targets started to pile up. I finally managed to process one of them.
The butterfly in the Sadr region.
41x600sec Ha
34x300sec and 19x600sec Oiii
19x300sec and 20x600sec Sii
All shot with my QHY183M on the AT106 telescope at 690mm focal lenght.
Stacked in pixinsight, processed in photoshop.
I hope you like it

Thanks Alan. I hope you feel better soon.
You can always try a mosaic if it doesn't fit in one frame.
7 hours ago, tomato said:That’s a mighty fine M31, lots of detail and for me, a nice colour balance.
What software did you use to combine the different subs?
Thank you. I love the colour too.
Initially I tried to do everything in APP but when it got to the stacking stage it was running out of memory. I then decided to save the calibrated, registered and normalized files and throw them in pixinsight.

Last week I had another go at Andromeda withe the ASI294MC and seeing how much data I have from last year when I shot it with a dslr and the Qhy10, I decided to put them all together to see what comes out of it.
It's a combination of 1min, 2min, 4min, 5min, 10min and 15min exposures bringing the total integration time to 22 hours and 11 minutes. There are a few problems with some of the stars and I think it's because I stacked all the exposure lenghts in one go rather than doing it separately. Another one is the artefacts that I got from the dslr subs. They are noticeable on the top right of the galaxy.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with it.
So here it is, Andromeda in HaRGB.

A few night ago we had one more clear night and I managed to finish what I wanted for this 4 panel mosaic.
This Tri-Band filter changed my OSC imaging so much, I absolutely love it in combination with the ASI294MC Pro.
As per my my other mosaics, I used the TS65 Quad on the EQ3 Pro mount.
Captured with SGP, guided with PHD2.
25x600sec for 3 of the panels and 30x600sec for the Tadpoles panel.
Stacked in APP and Processed in Photoshop.

I managed to finish processing one more target.
I'm sometimes grateful that we have some cloudy weather because I was starting to feel that I will never manage to finish processing my data 😀
Well as you all probably know this is the Elephant's Trunk nebula.
I started shooting it quite a while ago, in April, with a 130PDS and I continued with the AT106 last month and this month.
I managed to gather a total of 19 hours and 40 minutes worth of data.
76x300sec Ha with the 130pds
and the rest of 9x600sec Ha, 36x600 Oiii and 35x600sec Sii with the AT106
I hope you like it. CC most welcome

Hi guys. Is it possible to set a certain start and stop time for each target? Last time I used it I couldn't find this option and I went back to sgp. My view is wuite restricted and I wanna stop one target before it goes behind the trees.
Also, does NINA remember the last focus position for each filter?

I tried on the partially stretched Ha stack and this is my result.
My stars are very fat even in the Ha stack and I had, still have quite a few residues.
How do you clean them. I ran the Spot Healing brush tool on most of them. Is there any other way to make them blend with the surrounding area?
I'm not really a fan of starless but I really want small stars in my SHO photos and if this will help me do it , so be it.

Hi Emil. It will only work on a non linear image. So after your main stretch. It wont work on a project you have already started. What I mean is, save the stretched image you want to work on. Save your project and close Pixinsight. Restart Pixinsight and load the Starnet process first. Now load up the saved image and drag the Starnet instance onto the image. It works well on Ha images as the stars tend to be small. On other images with big stars, bloated stars, halos etc, it will leave artifacts behind.
Thank you so much. I have a feeling that it will work. I ve done it quickly on a partially stretched RGB photo and I like what I see. Can't wait to try it on the individual Ha, Sii and Oiii

I tried this last year and I never got a decent result. You have done far, far better.
It does look noisy when displayed at full resolution, but the image is coming up at over 5000 pixels wide. Does your camera really have this many pixels, or has the image been upsampled somewhere along the way?
It is indeed 5000 pixels wide. The qhy183m is a 20mp camera. I should probably bin the imaged 2x2 in pixinsight because unbinned the resolution of 0.72 "/pixel is a bit high for nebulas.
Emil.
