  1. Think it was 1:20, so annoying for us watching, think what it was like for all of those involved.
  2. I've got a very large gin and tonic ?
  3. Let's all meet up again tonight then, hopefully we'll get to see the launch. All this fuss for about a 4min live video as the National Rec Office have said the video stream will go off before the fairings stop off.
  4. Heard some reference to 17:00 Pacific time, that's a few hours away now so over and out roger that etc etc.
  5. Very good. I was really hoping this would have launched on time. Can't hang on any more, night night. Bet it lifts off any minute now, straight after I log off ?
  6. Yeah had to swap to sons iPad as battery on phone critical, bed calling as well, hurry up!!!!!
  7. Looks like it might be cancelled after all this.
  8. On hold at t minus 1:20, now 4 mins to go, done problem, but hopefully sorted.
  9. Commentary starts any minute, not sure of lift off time but the weather looks fantastic.
  10. Search for liftoff on iTunes (other apps are available ?).
  11. There's an APP for all launches, the best are the Space x ones that then land again, amazing abs exciting when watched live. Liftoff: Rocket Launch Schedule by Vatthikorn Apiratitham https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/liftoff-rocket-launch-schedule/id1183059317?mt=8
  12. Not sure if anyone else interested in this sort of thing, but in about 30 mins there's a live launch here: http://www.ulalaunch.com/webcast.aspx
  13. Here's another couple from tonight, it was very bright.... One of them inspired by the silhouette at the start of 'The Sky at Night'.
  14. Currently snapping away at the festive Christmas Tree Cluster, probably going to call it a night with 120x 45 sec. Work at 7 so can't stay out much longer.
  15. @pushrod, I fully appreciate what you mean about the comparison between single and stacked images at my level. Sometimes after hours of imaging, stacking and processing I can't notice much difference but I think as I improve, that difference will become greater and in the meantime I am getting better and quicker at that side of things. The main area that lets me down is my inability to get good flats, something I'm working on. Also, I'm thinking of getting a filter for my camera in 2018, but that's another story. Great image by the way, the Pleiades is simply stunning to both look at either through a telescope or bins, and a very beautiful thing to image.
  16. My latest Pleiades, 60 x 50 sec ISO 1600 darks and bias. New year resolution is to master the art of flats!!
  17. A few from last night, Rosette Nebula probably over processed to get some colour but I kinda like it. Also Bodes. Both ISO 800 and 50 sec exposures. Darks and bias no flats. Also a bit of fun with Orion turning the motors off after 45 seconds. Reminds me of a light saber, as I have just taken the kids to see Star Wars.
  18. Currently snapping away at Rosette Nebula, 50 sec exposures ISO 800. Not sure if my un modded canon will pick it up but we'll see, it's a nice patch of sky anyway. Then I'll have another go at Bodes and Cigar galaxy. So clear don't want to pack up but busy time of year, given myself till 02:00 at the latest.
  19. Loving all these iced up scopes. Proper hardcore. Unless of course you leave them imaging and go inside. Just saying!!
  20. I do try flats but have limited success. Also I only use free processing software so no gradient exterminator (I am from Yorkshire you know!)
  21. I've improved a bit on this target. As you can see, light pollution is the problem.
