  1. Or you could use astap, astrometry.net... probably others embedded in other software too. HTH
  2. Mmm, quite. Well, we're not allowed politics, so how about we go for the virus then instead?
  3. Hi Isn't this due to the spacers between the lenses? The OP mentioned seasonal differences. Expansion and contraction perhaps? Can the lens cell be adjusted tighter/looser? Cheers
  4. ... and for a change, we can't blame it on anyone taking delivery of a new telescope;)
  5. Hi and thanks for your post. Quite wide. The nebula extends beyond. It's located in Auriga. HTH
  6. Hi everyone The last of the new moon images for this month. It's a bit on the pastel side of manley-wax-crayon colouring but you can see the difference between the reflection and the emission nebulae at least but I really hate when the foreground stars FWOABW 'push away' the nebulae, refractor style. I think I've traced it to a rather heavy hand on deconvolution... Still thinking. Thanks for looking and please do feed back on stars, colouring or WHY. 700d @ ISO800
  7. Hi So did I. I find galaxies emerge from correction pretty colourless. Nice shot and wow, less than an hour. The aperture manifests itself. We needed 3 hours to get anywhere near. Cheers
  8. Guest reflectors especially welcome:) Looks good. You've better color than I. Cheers.
  9. Well, yeah. I know. You're a bit limited in Málaga with only 300 clear nights per year! But seriously, that's a lovely shot of m33. Keep going with it adding more and more frames? It will get easier to process. Cheers
  10. Post It! The more images on the thread, the better IMHO. With this post, I just wanted to see what other reflector images were like. (Are you in Spain now?)
  11. Hi Siril has a nice dark optimisation (for non temperature matched darks) algorithm which works well reducing banding with our 450d, but adds more noise with both our 1200d and 700d. Camera dependent? I'm a fan of losing the darks and going with dither. Best to experiment perhaps. Cheers
  12. It looks really good already. Inspiration indeed; we've a Bresser 150mm f8. Must add this to the list.
  13. Hi Nice shot, and certinly less blue than my effort. Yeah, it seems that these days, you can choose your own colour scheme. There are so many to choose from. So who's to judge?! Cheers
  14. I've never pointed it toward a planet. It's best at deep sky stuff. Your f5 with a Barlow would be good for the planets, I'm sure. But remember that your f5 is the same speed as our f3.9; it collects the same amount of light.
  15. Hi Vlaiv and thanks for your time. There's gradient to one side. So I took the easy option! You have however inspired me to have another go. Cheers
  16. Hi. 208mm f3.9. At f5, it should fit perfectly across the diagonal. Good luck 🤞 Cheers
  17. Hi everyone I had a bright Newtonian for the weekend, so took advantage of the new moon with a galaxy. It seems a bit too blue, but that's what Siril's photometric database gave. TBH, to make it look nice, I increased the colour saturation. Maybe too much. Thanks for looking and Newtonian users, please post your shots of the same. Comparisons help us a lot. 700d @ ISO800 3 hours
  18. Hi everyone We were in a small town yesterday and even though the lp was enough to cancel the milky way, we decided to have a go anyway. The nebula was only 30º above the horizon at the meridian so we did about 40 minutes either side. This is the best I could do. Can anyone rescuse anything else? The fits is here. TIA
  19. Hi Go through all the light frames and remove all those that have cloud or any other imperfection. Then stack again. Any better? HTH
  20. Both the OP and I are using DSLR cameras. With Newtonian reflectors. HTH
  21. Certainly over 1200mm focal length, not only are the stars better, but you get to use every frame. Over 650mm certainly the latter, even if the former is marginal. Unfortunately, hardly anyone uses nor has heard of the t7. Let's hope someone can chip in. Maybe ask in the cameras section of the forum with a link back here? Cheers
  22. Hi We use a T7m @ bin2 with an oag on a 10" f5 without problems and with much better stars than using a guide telescope. Not sure about the t7c. Is it a lot less sensitive? I'm sure you'll be fine with the 130. HTH
  23. Hi We're running indi-ekos under kubuntu on a decent laptop. It just works. Cheers and HTH.
  24. Hi everyone I'm calling this one, 'Alnitak of the north'. Just an unashamedly like-you-see-in-sci-fi thrash. I had a go at reducing Navi, but with the Mediterranean haze enhancing the devastation, opened another beer instead. Nice to get back to something bright after the miserable ed72. Thanks for looking and do post your ghosts if you've had a go. 700d on nt150s ISO800
  25. +1. Absolutely magic. I also think it represents a step more toward no-need-for-calibration territory;) Cheers
