  1. baader aspheric 36 (72 deg) or sw aero 40 (68 deg), which would be better as a low power EP in a sct8? aero has a slightly bigger AFOV, it seems, and the exit pupil, but the aspheric would show more contrast and make filters less effective. does it even matter? wouldn't both actually vignette because their filed stops are bigger than 38mm?
  2. So true, I am refreshing it too often on days when I schedule my outbound trips. FLO, any chance of adding some additional data? (see above)
  3. great app, although i now know when not to believe it (like the last night, lol). if i may suggest anything, that is perhaps to look into the possibility of plugging some of the data available at meteoblue, such as seeing indicators, jetstreams, bad layers, etc. https://www.meteoblue.com/sr/vreme/prognoza/seeing/%D0%91%D0%B5%D0%BE%D0%B3%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B4_%D0%A1%D1%80%D0%B1%D0%B8%D1%98%D0%B0_792680
  4. i cannot compare, but my 127 on goto works well, is fairly portable and the setup time is good. if you do your alignment as accurately as possible (esp by defocusing stars and using zoom to further center dead on), goto is remarkably accurate and the tracking is good. remember to round gps coordinates towards the closer figure. battery pack will last a while, but now i got myself a big lipo battery (portability is premium and these give a lot of power in a very portable small pack), heated dew shield, etc. btw, when making up my mind, i was also torn between 100 ed and 127mak...and went for the later for portability.
  5. interesting topic. so far i am managing with packing a number of diffuse objects in my estate (or caravan, as we on the continent would say). if space is at the premium (plane flight), once i have opted for binos, but only after checking the weather forecast. otherwise, tripod would go to the checked luggage, tube with tidbits with me and the motored az head would end up in my son's backpack LOL.
  6. interesting topic. i am sure they work, but as my mak is entering the autumn, i begin to wonder whether a simple passive shield will do, or whether i should plop for the flexi heat one and kill two birds with one stone. ep heater seems like a must for winter, irrespective of whether one observes from serbia or england.
