Great images just show's the moon is not without colour, and those impact rays really give an idea of the force's involved.Brillent 👏👏
Very kind, thanks!

Excellent as always! Love the subtle mineral colours.
Thank you! I try for the impression of colour, without going crazy 🙂

Excellent - particularly the detail on Ganymede !
Thank you! I was surprised that it would resolve anything, but when compared with a simulated view, it does match up
3 hours ago, Kon said:Very nice images. I quite like the animation from the 26/9 as it's really cool seeing, I presume, Io coming in and out Jupiter's shadow.
Thank you! Odd one that: It's actually a stacking error that I missed when processing. the moon drifted outside the alignment boxes when I was batch stacking the videos, so there are about 3 frames when it's seem to almost vanish. I still have the raw stacks, so could redo it...maybe one day 🙂

lovely captures, thanks for sharing. I'm only just beginning with my C11.
Thank you! I've had mine since July. It's not had a huge number of outings, due to our old advisory the weather!

Last night I wrestled my C11 off the mount and put the refractor on, thus ending my Jupiter imaging for this season (unless an especially perfect evening presents itself). These are all with the C11 and a selection of cameras / x2 powermate, hence the differing image sizes
This is my collected 'best of' from this year:
05/09/23:
26/09/23
11/11/23, with some very variable seeing
24/11/23 (not animated), but Ganymede showing some hints of detail! (PlayerOne Mars II-C / x2 Powermate)
28/11/23 - Ganymede top left, Europa in transit and Io bottom right (PlayerOne Mars II-C)

It's been a while since I point a scope at the moon for anything other than a quick look. I finally demounted my C11 last night, after pursuing Jupiter for as many sessions as the recent weather has allowed. The FL of the C11 didn't easily allow a full disk image without a lot of mosaic panels
107mm x 700mm 'frac, PlayerOne Mars II-C
6 panel mosaic, 50% of 5000 per panel, AS!4 beta / Registax / ICE then pushed the colour a little in PixInsight. I'm a little rusty at this

Ah, if it’s a mobile phone, I think it’s scaling one for screen width?

That odd, but no. Same 100% for both. Slightly different crop

So it normalises to black 🤯. Is that for all %s? I won't be upgrading yet then....
Apparently, it just the first stack and then it behaves - I've not tested that, I just unticked it
So, I restacked with AS!4 then assembled it as per my usual method, as close to the same workflow as I could (not rigorously scientific!) :
Old v New

Humm...even without the normalisation, I'm happy to use it I think* 🙂

happens with normalisation
If it's checked, the image comes out black 😞

I'll be interrsted to know what you think about it.
Thus far, it's noticeably faster on on newer hardware, and there seems to be a bug with stack normalisation. Otherwise, it's AS!3, give or take

Thank you! I'm now restacking it all with AS!4 beta as a test...because clouds 🙂

Somewhat choppy seeing on the evening of 11/11 with quite wet air - par for the course in Lancashire! (insert the obligatory moan about the weather)
C11 / x2 Powermate / PlayerOne Ceres-c (imx224) / iOptron CEM60
Captured with Firecapture, 180sec per stack, 30 stacks. 5ms @ 200fps, 800x600 ROI. Batch sharpened and colour balanced in PixInsight then cleaned up the background and made the GIF in PS
Single frame

I really like that! Have you got a link to it or similar?
It's a Bosch NIN-733-V03IP, but I got it from a CCTV guy who had several going spare from decommissioning a system.

You might be able to find a CCTV dome with the Starvis technology. I grabbed an old Bosch one 2nd hand for about £40, and it works quite well without IR

Wonderful picture, congratulations! There are some frames where Europa almost disappears, what happened? Did it go out of the camera's field?
Thanks you and well spotted!
When batch stacking, I try to put some points alone the moon paths. I suspect I missed a frame or 2 so the moon didn't stack. When I spotted it, I considered redoing the bad frames...

Thank you everyone!
15 minutes ago, Mark2022 said:. What do you use to create the Gif/Video?
I create them in Photoshop as a 'Frame Animation'. Paste them in twice and reverse the frame order or half of them to give the looped bounce
You can use PIPP too, although it's gif output tends to be less optimised

Jupiter from last night. Europa shadow transit and Callisto bottom right. 30 frames over 1 hour, looped. C11 / PlayerOne Mars II-c
