  2. A quick release clamp and finder shoe for my new mount connector plus a special cable from pierro astro for directly connecting an atlas eqg mount with a pc, removing the mount's handheld controller ....
  3. @toofaruphillim afraid those old cameras only connect to windows pcs - for example via canon software... clear skies!
  4. Well, tbh the first half of October was quite okay but it all broke down about 10 days ago- only rain since. this summer i was thinking about giving up, too- but hey , you need something to spend your money on, and astro gear is perfect for that 😃
  5. i have a skywatcher f4 200/800. in my case, i need to mount an extension as the fokus point is farther away from the scope.
  6. @DSOBug Beautiful gear, looks pretty expensive! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
  7. great, just what we need 🤐
  8. IMHO they look like Musks starlink satellites. They get launched in bulk...
  9. My lowest price astrostuff so far: 1/4 inch screws for my dovetail!😊
  10. Hi! For all the noobs (like me ) out there: - The more your polar alignment is off, the more your pictures will suffer from field rotation - the higher your declination (more towards polaris) you are, the bigger your field rotation - http://celestialwonders.com/tools/rotationMaxErrorCalc.html will calculate your error for you - Example: If your guide star is 1° from your target, your scope has 800mm focal length, declination is 45° and your subs are 2 minutes, you'll get 3 microns of star trails if you have a large alignment error of 60 minutes=1° - By playing around, you'll get a good feeling about how short your subs have to be Clear skies!
  11. I have a 2014 Atlas EQG (EQ6) mount and i am experiencing loss of power supply when slewing fast. Connector is a simple 5,5mm outside/2.1mm inside jack. Anybody else having these issues? Solutions? I am thinking about fixing the power cord with a velcro strap... Clear skies!
  12. @ONIKKINEN no, has not been serviced for 9 years, i'm the first owner 💀 However, last night i got down below one ArcSecond of error with phd2. Backlash is at 2300 seconds, and the power port and the rs232 port seem to have issues... so yes, i need to get it serviced this winter
  13. Alright, thanks for the input! I will get into backlash . It's an EQ-6 from 2014. Balance was way out at first, i corrected but maybe thats still an issue. Thanks!!
  14. That is PRECISELY the thing Malc-c !! Unfortunately, i've already ordered the other 2 cables. But i guess i will get that cable too. Thank you Malc!
  15. Okay, so i have a vintage QHY8 camera that is cooled, but does not report the temperature. How long should i let the cam cool down before operation? I'm asking because it seems like the camera gets its best performance after at least 2 hours of cooling... and the difference is enormous ! Ambient temp was relatively mild (15° centigrade)
  16. And a BIG "Thank you" to everybody who tried to help me 😙👍
