Depending on the grade, 1400-1500 degrees C is the melting point. They may have designed their own stainless with much higher heat thresholds.

Liquid oxygen will boil off very quickly in fresh air, and can only stay in the pressurised tank for so long as it will warm up slowly, through the tank material. In space of course, it can't happen.
