Louise I have been away from here due to health issues and have only just seen this. I wish you all the best for the future. By the way - the weather everywhere in Britain is awful.

Looks great to me. Well done.

If you tap on the image of the camera another menu comes up. You can select to save individual files. They should be on the telescope drive under My Works.

Just to add to what David has said. If you are looking through an open door you are going to have air currents disrupting the view - I recommend setting it up outside.

A Flip mirror is worth it's weight in gold. So much easier.

Sharpcap will be fine for capture. Try AS3 to stack the images with tweeking using Registax. As Geoff says you will need a high frame rate planetary camera like a ZWO ASI224. Guiding is not required but a flip mirror does help.

A flip mirror is invaluable when planetary imaging.

No surprises there then 😟

Thanks Steve but Solar observing has never appealed to me.

Due to age, health issues but mainly the weather, I am on the slope to ending this hobby. I will carry on for now but will be looking to get rid of equipment gradually over the next year or so.
I find the challenge of dealing with our weather has really got to me recently and I can't see the point of carrying on much longer.
Anyway maybe some clear nights in the Autumn will help but based on the last few years, that's unlikely.

I haven't actually done any imaging since Feb for various reasons. I am happy with the result obtained back in Feb though.

The optics were pinched. Scope went off to be tweaked. Spacing was not the issue.

Although in some frames at the beginning of the shooting session the stars were fairly round, and the frame I've sent was later at the end of the session, did I have to adjust the focus after a certain period of time?
Doubtful, temperature can affect focus but I can't see that being an issue at the moment.

That is never going to stack. The star shapes are wrong and out of focus.
-
DSS can be quite fussy about images - if they are not in focus or star shapes are odd, then it will not stack.
I suggest that you upload here a single sub so that we can see what it's like. Upload a png or jpeg.

AI will take over - it will know what you want to look at before you do.

My health has improved but I still can't lift anything very heavy so I can't put the AVX mount out. I got one of those Seestar scopes to play with in the interim. Apart from the health issues, the age doesn't help.
Hope you enjoy your new home.
