I use a manfrotto - I wanted the seestar to be at waist height.

Hi Peter, that is helpful. I guess that the other useful thing is that StarSense can also be used with the celestron mounts.
That's true but IMHO it's not worth it.

If it's any help, I used my C9.25 quite successfully for AP on my AVX mount. I also use the AVX for AP using 80Ed and Esprit 100 with no problems.

Interesting. All I can tell you is that when I click on Firmware it says 2.25 and that it's the current version.
From someone on CN - "Hi, the current firmware version is 2.25, just checked on mine."
-
Just to save any confusion the latest android update is 2.25 not 1.14. I had to get it from Google Playstore - it did not update automatically as it has done before.

I find that a tripod leveler is really useful. In spite of in built software I still want it level if possible.

1. I think that you will only get a reminder to level if it is out of level over the allowable amount.
2. Sounds about right to me.
3. Don't think you can do that. I would like to know.

Will a USB cable not work?

I just got the Doogee - works really well with Seestar.

Great first attempt!
Some suggestions - you need to get the focus right so I suggest a bahtinov mask. With M42 you need long exposures for most of it but short exposures for the core. You then combine them.
Getting the colour right can be a bit trial and error but you don't say what camera was used. Was it the 183c Pro? Did you use an IR filter?

I had a weird issue last night with the Seestar. I asked it to GOTO the Moon and it struggled and only showed me a very bright area - I tried moving it but could not get the Moon. I tried this twice with no success. Then I asked it to GOTO M1 and it did it flawlessly. Then I asked it to GOTO the Moon from M1 and it worked perfectly.
Seems that once it had gone to M1 it knew where it was.
Anyway this is what I got.
I am having all sorts of trouble transferring files from Tablet to PC but I won't bore you with that.

This is what it says on the Forum:
There is a certain risk of falling when using the Seestar in a tilted state. At the same time, the internal motor will be unevenly stressed, which will accelerate the aging of the equipment.

Looked on the Seestar Forum and they don't recommend using it at an angle as it can cause undue wear on the gears.

On another point - has anyone tried the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer Equatorial Wedge on a tripod to turn the seestar into EQ?
-
Has anyone found a lens hood that would fit the seestar?

2 hours with the Seestar S50 last night in EQ mode.
Could you explain how you used it in EQ mode - I see nothing on the ZWO website about this. Good capture by the way.

Although there have been some improvements, I am still unable to lift anything much. So I got myself a Seestar and it has been cloudy ever since. No change there then. 😒

If you only want to do planetary imaging then a GOTO AltAz would do but an EQ would give you more options for the future. For planetary you want as big a scope as you can manage/afford and I would go the Sct route. It gets expensive.

I'll be 73 in April. Not much fun is it.
