Thanks, I'll look forward to reading your thoughts.

How does this perform? I'm busy debating with myself between getting this and the 120ed

Nebula red with an alien head instead of a horse head. A great camera and I regret selling mine.

It is an awesome machine. I'm so pleased I got one.

Thanks. I took the bottom off and gave the fans a good blowing, when I powered it back up it was fine, then I put it back on the arm of the sofa and it made the noise again. I guess it was just catching due to it not sitting flat. I must say I'm very impressed so far and I haven't even started using it for astrophotography yet. Still busy downloading drivers and programmes

The hermes guy just delivered this to me. It's a nebula red alienware m17x r2. Now I just need to go through and download all the drivers and software needed for astro imaging (which is actually alot more than I though since I downloaded everything as and when I needed it on my old laptop). I bought it off ebay for £430 and it sounds like there may be something wrong with the fans. They're making a rather loud clicking/ buzzing noise.

You managed to get it then. Thanks for taking away my temptation

Have you ever had an esprit fail the bench test?

I've had a quick play and I must say it was a joy to work with such good data. I've also attached a screen print of the processing steps I took in photoshop (easier than listing everything I done, but also ran a high pass filter at the end) Thank you for allowing me (well, everyone who want to) have access to your data. it really was such a pleasure.

Mine says 1:0.33 Not sure what it means but guiding always seems fine in real world action -
Sorry for the bad weather. My new toys have finally arrived. Qhy183c, geoptik adapter with a rotator and an adjuster for my dual rig thanks to Allinthehead. I wonder how long it will be before I can play with my new toys?

That's very good for a first attempt. Your black point looks a bit clipped but then it could just be how it looks on my phone -

I never check the bubbles to see if they are level. If I'm on uneven ground I roughly get it level by eye and never had an issue. But then I usually only shoot 1 min subs and loose basically none of them. -

This was taken from a "darker" site 10 miles out of town which will have helped -

No, my camera is not modded. Been thinking about it but to get my 6d modded it'll cost around £200. Not sure it'll be worth it since it has good HA response as it is. -

Do you have a bahtinov mask? They're great for finding perfect focus. Out on the middle of nowhere after I finished work. -

They are both excellent pieces of software. You can't go wrong with either. If you think you might purchase a dedicated Astro camera at some point in the future I'd recommend apt as BackyardEOS is only for dslr whereas apt can do both. -

Even though it's out of focus it looks like you've got good polar alignment. Nice round stars is what we all aim for. Well done -

You can but I'd suggest checking polar alignment afterwards aswell just to be on the safe side and to be sure.
