Good write up there rich gonna be back on with mine by the end of the week

Good write up there Rich. Just before I left for my week's holiday I reground the bevel to a shallower angle which has taken back virtually all the chip I had on the side. It's looking a lot better now and I shall return to it with renewed enthusiasm

Nice write up there crash. I've done an hour with my tile tool this weekend and i'm getting a good contact with it now. Shame I've not got time to do a detailed write up but I'll leave that up to you as your doing a great job of it.Did you use the diamond disc to trim the tiles after they'd set? I'm now thinking I've gone from too much over hang to not enough as the edge seems to be staying where it is? I'll forward on John's mail tomorrow with a couple of pic's of my tile tool as it stands and then you'll know how to start off.

Well done Rich all that grinding slurry reminds me of a few week's ago and I need to crack on with mine again. I've cleaned the edge up on my cement tile too today after the week its had to set but still not got the tiles to stick on as I've been busy with the builds fella. Should have some more pics to email you shortly. I'm beginning to see distant galaxies at the end of the very long tunnel! Let me know when you want the former as your not far off now ;-)

Hope you didn't forget to factor in the cost of the shell and also a secondary too which I'll be ordering myself as soon as my blank is looking like going away for coating. Will be posting about the triple scope build and mirror grind when I get chance although it all seem's to be bed, work, grinding and scope building at present.

Mine is going very slowly too Crash. I first did centre through centre with the 11" tool although the back was going concave and the casting ripples around the edge weren't disappearing. I've done some chordal grinding to bring the edge down with a smaller tool (actually the grinding stone).But now I need to work with chordal strokes nearer the centre as I'm getting a turned edge

Excellent write up and the beginnings are there. I'll be adding my own thread very soon as I've now found a decent sub diameter tool. Will hopefully start later today after some more on the mirror cell for another scope.See how things go ;-)
