First full image of the new rig in its new location, I'm really pleased to say the least Ha - 8.5 hours Oiii - 5 hours Sii - 7 hours Total image time 19+ Hours IC1805 The Heart Nebula with carious crops and starless version Telescope - William Optics 80mm Super APO Camera - QHY294M Filter Wheel - QHYCFW3L (with M adapter) Filters - Baader Ha, Optolong Sii & Oiii Reducer - William Optics Adjustable Flat6A III 0.8x Guiding - QHYOAG & QHY5ii Mount - NEQ6 (Belt Mod) Software - N.I.N.A / PHD2 / Pixinsight Bortle - 4.5 The Heart Nebula, IC 1805, Sharpless 2-190, is some 7500 light years away from Earth and is located in the Perseus Arm of the Galaxy in the constellation Cassiopeia. It was discovered by William Herschel on 3 November 1787. It is an emission nebula showing glowing ionized hydrogen gas and darker dust lanes. Radius: 100 light years Magnitude: 18.3 Distance to Earth: 7,500 light years Coordinates: RA 2h 33m 22s | Dec +61° 26′ 36″ Constellation: Cassiopeia Absolute magnitude (V): 6.5
  2. M101 - Pinwheel Galaxy Second outing with the QHY294m all images were taken in 11MP mode, I've also attached cropped version RGB - 75x300s L - 35x300s Ha - 8x1200s 80mm William Optics Super APO QHY294M QHYCFWL QHYOAG-M LRGB Ha Baader 2" Filters Exposure 11 hours 30 minutes
  3. I was torn between both but went down the QHY route as it was a lot cheaper, and I’ve upgraded from a QHY9M so I kinda trust them
  4. Recently purchased QHY294m and the QHYCFW3L 7x2" This image is 2 hours 20 mins in Ha 1x1 - 11mp mode had slight issues with guiding on the night but being wide-field ive just about got away with it ha ha I've upgraded from the QHY9m, and I'm extremely impressed with this camera
  5. All setup and tweaking done the image is just 1 single 30 minute frame in Ha with no editing just stretched to show detail, im looking forward to some clear nights please
  6. Floor gone down over the past few days also took a snap shot of my imaging horizon

  8. Painted, pier installed and edging tidied up today, was a busy one
  9. Astro shed is up, got to tidy the edges up outside, I have sealed the inside and then will move onto bolting down pier and install the decking floor left todo
  10. Setting extremely well looking forward to getting the obsy up now and ready for winter
  11. Concrete has gone down today, now I have a week to wait before I can put the obsy back up, I do however need to replace the supports for the roof for when it’s open
  12. Hardcore went down today with special help from my wife, who did the levelling and helped with transportation
  13. Yes mate ha ha, it’s the only shot I had without popping outside
  14. Work has started at the bortle 4.5 location I have moved to, this time I’m doing the concrete base myself, I will be damp proofing so the wooden base from the original build can be removed. also included a photo of my new horizon
  15. Well obsy will be moving to a new home next week as I m moving house, positives is that garden backs onto fields and it’s a small village 🙌 the story continues......

  17. I used a modified old brake disc it was perfect for the job
  18. finally got round to installing the floor, Obsy is all finished
  19. only at 7 x 20min Ha subs for each panel so far, this is going to be a long project but I'm extremely happy with the framing This is just a quick stretch and stitch
  20. so installed power and alarm today, just the floor left to finish and a few little tweaks and it will be done
  21. 360 view from obsy and 2 with the roof to let it dry out after yesterdays rain
  22. with special help from my 10 year old son we weathered the rain and got the obsy up, well happy just need to dry out and sort inside out
