On the website mentioned in the price range indirectly mentioned by the OP could look at the starsense range as that will help find a target. Though the sky constantly moves so image taking is demanding as stars very easily trail and smear. The exception is the Moon and main planets as they are so bright, instead short video clips are taken and then these are processed in such like registax.
Your existing telescope if you share a photo might be easy to get replacement eyepieces, as generally they are a standard size. Or even if not the standard 1.25 size an adapter may be available.
If you seek day time use too then I wouldn't look at this time an Equatorial mount, as it doesn't move is easy left right up down movements.
For take out and about when cycling daytime use (note need specialist solar protection for sun viewing with a telescope) then a mak design telescope is much more compact and great for planets Moon etc like a mak102.
Enjoy the research the sky isn't going anywhere.

This is a great app but I have started to have a major issue on a 7" W10 tablet that I use it on, tried 9.26.6 and 9.25.4 32 bit. Despite wiping the folder and images the date used in the new file name is the day before and the pngs in imageconversions keep repeating the same images captured the day before. If I use Preview the image is current from the camera as expected. This is only effecting the 7" tablet. Tried using fixed, continuous, median etc. assorts of changes and testing to no effect. The same setting file works fine on the PC. Any ideas please?

The dobsonian bases on table top dobs do not collapse down and any tripod legs do not collapse down small enough for your backpack I don't think. If you are handy at making things you could make a dobsonian base at home for a telescope if you decided to get a mak/sct. There might be importation taxation too when carrying new items in.

That does look a very fiddly comet process but worth it, great result

have you used your ASI224 with the Askar FMA180?

start using your telescope now that you have it, that is a great way to learn more is in the use

The larger the aperture the heavier the telescope and if it's awkward to get outside you may be less inclined of it's patchy clear sky. Leaving some budget to grow into taking images of the Moon could show you more. Some astro cameras also have a mobile phone app to take videos through a telescope which can be something to do with Moon and planets. You've already expressed an interest to have goto so could build on what sort of telescope with it.

If you go for a electronic goto telescope that uses a mobile phone, check that your mobile phone uses a compatible version of either android or iOS you can check this in the relevant app store

There is no rush to making a choice, a large 8" or 10" dobsonian is not for everyone. If you like electronics and go to perhaps the az-gti with it's freedom find capability and ability to be used in EQ mode gives you some of everything while you learn leaving some budget free

Hi, I do not have this telescope but have seen written more than once, make sure the right adaptor only for the eyepiece size you are using is in the focuser tube, i'e' don't have both the 2" and 1.25" adaptors both inserted as you wont focus.

looking on here there might be another astro club local enough for you to be able to try

I'm not a nexstar user but I have tested things out inside by setting up as if outside even with out a telescope attached to the mount by setting up level and north and then just agreeing the star is where the mount is pointing to get a feel for things
good luck with your reach out

Interesting list of updates on the synscan pro update just released, I've installed it and just need the sky to clear

planets are tiny you may not need a flattener
if you were using a tmount with a tring to your dslr then you could insert the tmount into a barlow or screw it to a shorty barlow then put dslr with barlow into focuser on telescope i think
could look at this

M82 has worked particularly well. For reduced trailing and rotation in the northern hemisphere aiming E or W ideally lower altitudes will help eek out the exposure time you may find you can use

Welcome
Liking at sky watcher for example keeping in budget of the suggestion you gave there's the skymax 127 or 102 in a flavour of mount options.
Depends what's key to you like portability, goto, ease or weight etc.

(When viewing the site using the simple theme on a mobile all the review text is white)
Lovely to see images as well in your review, where they afocal images?
It's a great setup I like how the mount is versatile offering both altaz or Equatorial with the further option of adding a motor for in EQ use.

It's not looking optimistic with the Moon and clouds for me I'd have to hope for a fireball, I'll try and have a go anyway.

interesting the skymax102 is also bundled with the starquest mount, default is manual but I gather can be used in EQ mode or AZ plus when in EQ arrangement there is a motor that can be bought separately for the mount
