Not so much a difference when you look at the sun, with the Quark ?

I honestly think that's the sexiest scope ive ever seen.
It’s pretty cute I have to say ? and Quark aside the whole setup is quite cheap for what you get.

I thought it looked like my WO ZS66SD only in a lovely orange colour.
Mine is in blue, that is now slightly faded.
They are quaint little things, nice colours ?

Yes please do when you have a moment, I do have one of those ball heads but hadn't considered before mounting a scope on it, how is the movement and damping?
The scope is very light indeed and as long as it isn’t over loaded on the rear it is quite a breeze to use. It is surprisingly manoeuvreable for tracking purposes and can also be tightened so that it stays in place.

Very neat, how is it on the manfrotto ball head?
Thank you it has a quick real easy dovetail type connection. It fits any 1/4” thread, I am using it on my projector at the moment. I can take an image if you need to see it ?

Well as the old saying goes” if it ain’t broken “ ?

Just now, Piero said:
Correct. In fact, the coarse focuser also slightly bends the aluminium plate.
In any case my question is whether the tension adjustment for the coarse focuser is within the "light green box" at the centre. If so, I could try to adjust the tension of the coarse focuser and possibly, get rid of the MEF-3 completely..
It must have an effect.... try it then let me know if you broke it ?
-
The primary focus wheel still turns when you adjust the micro, thus it must be affecting both. I think the micro is a torque type (a smaller wheel with some extra thought gone into it) I haven’t taken it apart so I don’t know exactly how it works.

Mine's flawless too, and its touch sensitive and it shows no hint of flexure in the plate. Love it!
Maybe we just have a more delicate touch than Piero @Piero ? you know what I mean, the opposing thumb syndrome ?

I have tried and feel nothing..... I can only guess Piero that softer metals are used so it wears and not the action, maybe steel would benefit from a better feel but may wear something out. I do not want to disassemble mine to look as it works without a hitch ?

I would have thought this kind of issue would not have been overlooked from a design perspective..... for something so small the weight between steel and aluminium would not have mattered..... there must be a reason Tak made this choice.
I do not experience any kind of delay or backlash it moves when I move it, in both directions ? are you using any kind of torque tool to tighten the screws? Folk do not always understand how important torque is and they seem to think I will tighten this so it doesn’t come away.

Is this the Tak microfocusser that you are discussing ? If so why does mine operate flawlessly and why do I not experience any issue at all ? Is it possible that you maybe doing something wrong when fitting them? .. mine came fitted with the original in the box as a spare.

Very nice set up indeed Derek, maybe one of the high power eyepieces such as the Vixen HR or the Tak TOE for those wonderful moments of seeing ..... you have had most of the best eyepieces ?
-
Crikey ......very hard work ? dead horse and flogging spring to mind ?

The Tak clamp is more then adequate and holds the tube as steady as a rock .....mind you I have just fixed an extra three legs to my old tripod just for peace of mind on those extra windy days ?? I am not sure if that makes it a Hexapod

Do you know if it’s just the DC & DF that comes with that green extension tube? And what’s the length?
My DL came without it but came with a black 52mm extension tube?
I have the DF and it doesn’t come with the green extension, the focuser goes straight into the tube ? it does also comes with the secondary extension kit which I have used once for observing without the diagonal......

My heart also jumped into my mouth when I read the threads title ? but all’s well that ends well, and a useful piece of information to know ? enjoy your scope ?
