Maybe this thread on the ‘other place’ might help: https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/549879-tasco-10te/

I’ve seen this tripod bag suggested (see first review) as a good fit: https://www.firstlightoptics.com/telescope-bags-cases-storage/oklop-padded-bag-for-sky-watcher-eq6-neq6-az-eq6-tripods.html

Having lost my partner to illness and looking for something to keep me occupied of an evening, I bought myself a scope, and discovered SGL shortly after. In no time I was hacking up Xbox webcams to image Jupiter and Saturn. Twelve years later and SGL, though its members, continues to inspire, educate, and entertain me 😊

I use an AOK Swiss AYO II on a Berlebach Uni 18. No problems with vibration. However, I do find the whole experience much more enjoyable using my goto EQ5. Having the mount doing the tracking for you leaves you to just immerse yourself in the viewing experience 😊.

I had the Evostar ED80 for visual which, to be fair, I had really good time with. I was looking to upgrade to something with a little larger and optically as good or better. I saw @Mr Spock and others reviews of the Starfield 102 and I’m happy to say that it has lived up to its reputation!

That’s not good. The astronomy can wait. The stars aren’t going anywhere soon. Relax and take care of yourself mate.

Poor service @wookie1965 from Royal Mail, but thankfully no harm done 😊. I’m about an hour south of you and it looks like we’re in for a reasonably clear night!

An 11mm Tv plossal seems to be the only eyepiece I need and it gives by far the best view. My ES 82s were good, but not that comfortable in the LS50. Neither my Baader IV zoom or SvBony 3-8mm zoom reach focus.

But if 500 bucks is all there is to spend and one wants to image deep sky objects, then there is no better option.
I wouldn’t disagree, but Ed might, and all I’m saying is that I can understand his point of view, even if I don’t necessarily agree with him. Is that a bad thing?
I haven’t taken the S50 plunge myself, but I am enjoying all the creativity and ingenuity on display here from those who have.

I don’t have a squig in this fight, but to be fair to Ed, he seemed to me to be framing his review from a ‘buy once’ philosophy.

No thank you for sharing. I keep coming back to it as there’s always more details to see. It’s stunning; simply stunning 😍.
