  2. don the one the left is a 25 mm 3000 later model with the rubber eyecup removed , the one on the right is the early smoothside (japan) .the 2 40mm 3000s have rubber grips as well looks like they have not been added later both japan
  3. it seems the 40mm and 25 had rubber grips and lower focal lengths had none, weird
  4. i beg to differ I've got 2 40mm 3000s with rubber grip and 1 25mm with a rubber grip
  5. topic seems to have side tracked on to the 4000,s my 3000,s are all smoothsides. i still keep my 6.7 and 4.7 4000 smoothsides having let go the 14 uwa and 8.8 if you can try find yourself celestron ultimas 30mm really nice ,i have a pair
  6. got a pair off 3000 series 25mm plossls as well, really good, as well for what you pay second hand can't go wrong
  7. i still use the 3000 series 40mm plossl in a max bright2 narrow field but crystal clear ,27mm field stop so no vignetting a lot better than the 4000 series imho
  8. the only one i regret selling was a research grade 20mm meade , soon as i sold it another one came for sale , would have made a lovely bino pair well never mind
  9. trimed down a little was 47 now down to a manageable 30
  10. looks great, its a shame the the mef-3 reduction knob doesn't look as good as that .
  11. jeremy use to customize cars as a teenager ,all done by me for personal taste ill so you a picture off my stellarvue tbv 90 flourite use to blue stardust few marks on it so i had it powdercoated white and red with new decaling just my personal taste ,iam happy with them, and there all keepers ,now back to saturn with the foa 60
  12. due ever find when you have to many scopes ,the smallest get used the most, this one not seen the light off day yet
  13. yes mine screwed on no problem it must be a faulty bayonet hope you get it sorted, nice to get no vignetting on my 30mm ultimas and 40mm 3000,s plossls , the view through my 90mm flourite triplet with 17mm morphs is superb any way good luck getting yours sorted.
  14. the bayonet points out as in my photo at least you got the coupling off i had to file the ends off the tool to remove the coupling
  15. i have got both the mef-3 on a foa60 and the more blue on a fc60c my preference is the more blue
  16. thanks for that ,i had to file the ends off the removal tool to make it seat, so much easier with quick changer . i was beginning to think it was the lesser spotted binoviewer order one early 2020 fianally got a new one
  17. finally got my hands on a new baader maxbright 2 after a 2 year wait , first trying to install the zeiss bayonet the removal tool wont seat in to the coupling nut holes and second which way does it remove clockwise or anti clockwise love the binoviewer but want to connect to a quick changer any help will be much appreciated thanks an
  18. whatever scope you buy hope you get some clear nights , i have had 12 days off work ,always away contracting total cloud and rain, back to work tuesday us astronomers have some very expensive paperweights any way happy new year and lets hope for some clear nights
  19. hi merry christmas ,i have a foa 60 and the views are superb ,i complement it with a tak fs60c f5.9,and then similar to you a stellarvue tbv 90 fluorite and the for close up lunar and planetary a tak mewlon, to be honest i would not swap any of my scopes for anything, so get yourself a foa 60q you wont go wrong.
  20. thanks louis i was thinking about £380 so conversion is about right ,they sit in eyepiece boxes never getting used (thats the problem off having to many eyepieces} also got a full set off meade uwa,s 4000 collecting dust not just finding time to sell too much work and no time ,not to mention the british weathers crap.
  21. lam planning on moving these on as a set all in very good condition, what do you reckon the value should be any ldea.better than sitting in the eyepice box not getting used
  22. iam trying to find out the ral number off paint on a 2010 tak fs 60c, iam try to match the dew sheild to the body this is one i have fabricated apart from dew sheild that was missing it is mint appreciate any help
  23. yes i have been playing around with this scope for years finally settled on white from the original stardust blue optically superb asthecically challenged it is now back how it should be
  24. just changed the clam shell with more blue rings on my tbv 90 flourite triplet not sure if i like them yet any coments
