Thanks Alan... I would think that the Dolphin Head would be visible from NH at least?
I have just had a look which I have to confess seeing where you were I completely thought it was out of range. I could get onto this, albeit a bit lower than I would like. I have shot M41 a few times in the past. Seeing the last week has been very still, even Sirius was as still as I have ever seen it for many nights. I am clear tonight so I may have a go at getting a few shots of it. Not the best time of year as one of my walnut trees comes into play. It is always best before the meridian for this low down.

Stunning, never seen that before which being where you are sort of explains why.

Thanks Alan. I know I am in the minority with starless images but I do think they help to reveal detail and structure - and after all it is the nebula we are trying to image.
Thank you.
Adrian
It is probably me as much as anything as I don't know how to remove the stars with PS but do agree with you it helps with structure of the nebula. I must look for some sort of tutorial step by step and have a go.

Now that looks just about perfect to me, as good as any image of this I have seen. On the subject of colour I only ever get this to come out more purple on my 071OSC but either way it's a lovely object.

Nice collection of mono shots there, I don't normally like ones with stars removed but that for me works very well.

Have I seen this called the Christmas Tree nebula or have I got the wrong end of the stick. A very fine image but in my view a touch too red satuarated.

Thanks all!
I really wanted more data on these, but the window for most is pretty short from where I’m shooting.
Very happy with the current setup though; it’s behaving quite well - apart from some hickups with the last asiair update in some of the meridian flips.
Now looking into some longer focal length setup for the galaxy season. Just not sure on how to prep the c11E for that. (Camera, mount, reducer or not...)
I am having a hard time with the Moon near to where I wish to capture when it was clear and it not being clear the rest of the time. I was going to dismount the 12 inch Meade and even bought the mounting rails but it never got any further than that. I avoid meridian flips if I can. Last month I had a bout of bad guiding and found the alignment was quite some way out and the balance of the scope on the mount had change, quite what happen I don't know, earthquake maybe, still sorted now.

Really like the Messier 100 Dave, really should try some of these smaller galaxies with the M/N 190.

That's amazing and at close to 4m F/L a great statement as to how good the mount is.

That's rather lovely, well done. Nice collection below That I have never captured due to my focal length of 800mm. I have a reducer on the way which will drop the F/L a fair amount so may well have a go at this again.

That's a beautiful capture and object, as Orion is fairly high here I may try and get some shots of it, the weather has been against me of late and I dare say 17 hours may be a bit beyond me this year. I do not recall seeing it before on here.

you can bin in software after debayering.

I must give it a try, Astro Photography Tool does have setting at x2 x3 and x4 which does appear to change the view and sensitivity of the camera when doing 1 second captures for focus and framing but I have never tried to use it for an exposure longer than 1 second.

Nice detailed image Rodd, good to see your back.

I was told it was not possible to bin OSC cameras, I have the 071 and thought to do the same thing, but after being told never did. Very good capture for only 10 minutes though.

That's got to be one of the best images of this I have seen, 38 hours, that's almost a whole day. Out of interest how long did it take you, I know you have very long nights up there and not so many clear ones.

Amazing !

Maybe a bit over saturated from my personal taste but this is a very fine capture of a difficult object. I did 4 hours on this a while ago and was most disappointed with what I got which was next to nothing.

I don't normally like tight close-ups of this but this one really excels!!

Considering what you have this is a wonderful start, must look for the finished item.

That's really different and very nice, never seen it done like this before. Well done.

That's come out very nicely in my view.

Thank you, Alan. There are a few images of this object posted on Astrobin recently. But imo, not many really do this gem justice.
I see you took it with an M/N 190, I have one sitting in the corner of my observatory which hasn't seen light for about 3 years. Maybe it's time to mount it up the CEM 60 I have should carry it easily enough.

That's as good as any image I have seen of this galaxy, superb shot. I use to stay at the Old Hall many time when visiting Middlewich Ideal Plant. I liked Sandbach.
