I set up the Tal by the time I had polar aligned clouds rolled in took all my kit back in. Then it went clear again but I knew it was going to cloud over again so packed in for the night.
Definitely going to try 12 Lynci I love pulling triples out.

The weight of my 5" was the reason I sold it the EQ5 could not cope with it it was a bit over the maximum payload. It was heavier than the 200p it came with and that was precurious.

Some really great objects there a few I have not seen so I will be copying them down. Some I have viewed and are worth looking at over and over again.

Can I ask which Refractor is the one most people would love in their possession I have seen loads of posts about Takahashi`s but I have read posts about the Skywatcher Equinox 120ED so if money was no object what would you go for.

Hi Paul,
I used an old chromed 1.25" eyepiece barrel which I heated up on our ceramic hob. I made sure I wore log burner/fireplace gauntlets and carefully pressed the hot contact end of the eyepiece barrel into the foam at the spots I had marked for the placement of the ep's..the foam then melted in the circular hole shape I wanted, til it looked like this..
Hi Dave I had a old laser collimator I could use for the 1.25" but I had to use a old cycle bell for the 2" turned out quite good.

When I first got a Reflector many years ago I used "Astro Baby`s" The method by Spile was unavailable to me at the time but is very very good.
What I did use was this guide which simplify things into one step at a time without confusing reflections, https://web.archive.org/web/20200223041214/http://www.schlatter.org:80/Dad/Astronomy/collimate.htm
