I'm going to start to voting shortly - toight.
So anyone who has posted a reply in THIS TOPIC (in error) you have until tonight to CREATE A NEW TOPIC with your submissions - ONE image per topic.
I would do it, but I'm busy at work .Plus if I miss one it won't be fair, I'd have to think of Subjects for each... You have until 6pm tonight (Fri 5/1), then voting starts.
Thanks

Well done to everyone that entered the challenge. Once again (I'm like a broken record) really tough to vote.
You guys make it so hard to pick just three....

Thanks to everyone for entering images in this months challenge.
Please note that the challenge is now over and judging will start. As usual it'll take us a few days to go through all the images and pick our winners. We hope to have this complete by the weekend.
Thanks again to all those that entered

Thanks to everyone who entered. Challenge number 4 is now closed. Voting will now start and we hope to announce a winner over the weekend, maybe early next week.
But real life is getting in the way right now. It may be a little later.

You sure that's f4.7? Looks more like f8 (at least) to me.
I've got a 6" f8 and I reckon your may be even higher than mine.
Bet it's great on planets?

Thank You!
It is currently in the list for Jan/feb/Mar '18. It *could* change, but unlikely I think.
We also have a galaxy challenge for the spring planned. The fov on a DSLR will be ideally suited to that.

It's over the winter - Jan / Feb / Mar, I think.
I'll check.

Guys,
If you want to enter the challenge - please start a new thread (for each image you want to enter) in this section. DO NOT reply to this post with an image.
Any images that are in this thread won't even get looked at during the judging period.

I'll give you a like as well for that, just to skew the numbers.
I do think that software updates do muck things up a little. For example technically i'm member #1 or #2 (I cannot remember it was nearly 15 years ok). But due to an error during one of the software changes according to the current software I didn't join until may 30 2012.
In fact I cannot even remember if the previous software had 'likes' or not.

I think if you did that you'd be in with a pretty good chance

*technically every planet is a satellite of the Sun. M110 is a satellite of M31.
Happy for everyone to think out of the box on this first one!

If she had still be flying around the earth when you took the image, it would have been fine.
This image, however, I think is pushing the definition a little far- 2

Yes, unless specifically forbidden by the challenge (i.e. we might have a dSLR challenge), sketches would be great to see.

Hey Glimpse,
A FAQ has been suggested before but would take a not insubstantial amount of time
But what we do have is a primers and tutorial section, which covers a number of topics that you may find useful

Welcome to the SGL12 Bring and Buy thread.
We have tried a few different different approaches to the Star Party Bring and Buy sale. We've tried set times and locations, and whilst it didn't not work... it didn't work that well either.
So this year a new approach. We will still have a thread (this thread) on the forum where attendees can post up details of the items that they are taking to sell at the Star Party, these details should of course include the price. Our thinking is that by including the price it enables people that have their eyes on a new mount or camera, to take funds with them for the item that they fancy.
So this year nice and easy...
The transaction is nothing to do with SGL. We do not want to hear about any disputes - the deal is between the buyer and the seller.
How and when you display goods for sale is up to you. At many star parties people have goods for sale on tables on their own pitches, or have mounts setup with a "For Sale" sign hanging around them. Whichever way suits you best.
We would love for this to encourage people to walk round all the pitches see whats about, talk to people etc. Who knows who you'll meet, or which scopes you may get to look at/through that you never even knew were there.
Just one word of caution. Please remember that the camp site is open to members of the public and also other campers that are not part of SGL - you need to take whatever precautions that you feel are right to protect your items.
Once pitch numbers have been announced you can edit your post with your pitch number so that buyers can come find you.
SO... What have you got to sell at SGL12?- 5

I think that there may be a glitch in the album software - post up your query in the Suggestion/bugs section and someone cleverer than me (or me if your unlucky) will help you out. Post a link to your images if possible when you post.
