Just catch it on my 8x40.
3h30am naked eye. Direct views. Tail noticeable.
Once located with binoculars is quite obvious with naked eye.
3h31 Great tail. ~40 ' that is a bit bigger than a full moon. Quite broad.arc-shaped West Side, straight slightly fainter east side- 8x40 mag. 1.7
3h44am averted vision. Started to be consumed by background dawn light.
A beauty!

Next time put the audio from the launch pad. Not studio. Much nicer.

Also, it is easy to print a pdf.
Pluto here I go.

Cartes du Ciel lets you export finder charts as images, but I'm not sure PDF export is available. But as others have said, SkySafari 6 Pro has stars down to mag 15.0, the GAIA extension offers stars down to 17.0 (G magnitude). The free TriAtlas C edition (PDF) has a stellar magnitude limit of 12.6.
Thanks Waddenshy, Cartes du ciel did the trick! I have downloaded the GAIA 2 mag 18.

There is a live on youtube tomorrow 8h30 AM BST from Astroneos, Brazil. The same group who have discovered some comets and asteroids recently. Comet Jaques, 2019 OK and others.
Latest reports Magnitude 5.1. Coma 10".
Today's live is still happening.
Brazilian portuguese though. But everybody speaks astronomy.

which Sky safari are you using? I have the plus version which is good enough for me, but the pro version claims mag 18 and 'the largest mobile star database'
extract from web site: (mag 18 was galaxies)
We Have The Best Stars
We’ve updated to use the UCAC5 star catalog with 29 million stars down to 15th magnitude. And with an in-app purchase you can get a total 109 million stars.*
Sky Saffari 6 plus.

The UCAC4 catalogue in CdC will get you down to 16mag, below that you need the GAIA catalogue which goes down I think to 20 mag!
I will check if I can produce pdfs that can be used on my mobile at night.

I don't think you will find a paper atlas to mag 15 and if you did it would be enormous. I have one to mag 13.5 at it's in 3 large boxes.
Regards Andrew
I thought that would be the case. I am hopeful to find that can be accessed on the mobile. PDF or app.

Thanks Chris, I will have a look. I normally don't take laptops for my sessions.
One thing less to worry about.

Hi
Does anyone know where I can find star charts down to mag 15?
Sky safari is not that good with faint stars around deep sky objects.
Same around pluto.
I have been taking advantage of recent great transparency and galaxy hunting for many nights in a row.
Many thanks

I sent an e mail to the local council asking if they could do something about a couple of street lamps where the excess light illuminates my garden.
They fitted a shroud to one on Friday!
Great action
Would you mind sharing the communication as a template?
Let's build on success.

You came back in good time. The transparency of sky has been amazing.

When I want to dig in I use high power orthos.

I had a go last night as transparency was quite good. For about 30 minutes I was nudging the telescope, changing eyepieces, finding starts at the limit of my telescope.
But I cannot say I have seem something obvious.
Perhaps if I had a star chart down to magnitude 15 I would be convinced that I have seem something that was actually there, and not a star at the limit of my telescope popping in and out.

This one in on my to do list now next time I go to Brazil.Star Cluster NGC 265This image displays a cluster of stars called NGC 265. The cluster resides in the Small Magellanic Cloud, one of the small galaxies orbiting our Milky Way galaxy.

I read a news item (I have no idea how true it may be)that power distribution could be at risk in certain areas of the UK due to staff sickness/self isolation.
Make sure your portable power supplies are fully charged, there may be a dramatic improvement in sky darkness, albeit for unfortunate reasons.
Hi, that is just not true. Just a sensationalist newspaper article.

Crazy how small Mercury's disc actually is compared to the earth's disc.

can you see it crossing the skies over the UK?

Nick, I got a bit late for this one, have you got one for April? I suppose few of these targets sre still around.
I am willing to check how accurate this seeing forecast is. Seeing forecast

I didn't wake up my children. The light dawn doesn't allow me me to call it spectacular. They would not enjoy it as much as I did.
