Mine's not too good either. A gigantic Aldi warehouse is being constructed 2 miles away. Don't know hat effect this will have on my imaging exploits.

Hi and a very warm welcome to the Lounge. Very nice images

Thanks Gina, It's still working as well as it did from day one. The phase two stage - Automating the shutter has been more of a head scratcher. Hoping to start this next spring. Watch this space

Like it, anything to ease the work load is good in my book. I'd certainly look at incorporating a garage door motor to open and close the roof, in the future. But, first I would want to be in there observing and imaging. Have you had any time using the Obsy for imaging?

amazon. if you can, get one sold by Comgrow i've heard that there are copies being sold that have 3D printed parts like the power supply cover, but this is the one i got and it's a genuine Ender3 Pro (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07GYXP9ZL/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1), from what i've heard, Comgrow have very good support.
so far i'm really impressed. only done 1 print yet but this would have made my AM8 curl it's toes up. that's a 1p coin it's stood on
Wow! 3D printing is coming on leaps and bounds. Equipment to print that 10 years ago would have cost 10's of thousands of pounds

You must have shares in tool station / screwfix. I haven't seen that many clamps for a while. What would you call a "gathering of clamps"
On a serious note, I've been following this thread since day one and have been willing you tho complete for the New Year. A superb build James and awaiting the "first light"

Dave, I know it's off topic, but what options do you recommend regards the Ooznest Workbee.

Simple answer is yes but not ,i would suggest ,on a single RPI (but you can run multiple RPI's or other SBC thats Indi inbuilt speciality) especially if you want to image at the same time. Go over to the Indi forum there are users who run that sort of set up - they dont bite ?

Great set-up Giorgio. I would love to move to say an Ubuntu controlled system. could this extend to a twin scope system. driving two ccd cameras, filterwheels, autofocusers and one mount.

Good luck with the CEM120 Ray. Can't wait for your initial test results and, of course, the first light.

Time lapse worked perfectly Miguel
Looking forward to the build. You will not regret building it.

Thank you Steve, a most informative read and one I will apply to my future Pixinsight processing procedures.

I have built 3 focusers for my set-up. One in-line & two belt driven, all running in SGPro. The source for my DIY focusers:- https://sourceforge.net/projects/arduinoascomfocuserpro2diy/
All working exceeding well

If you buy the belts from reputable companies like Beltingonline or HPC Gears you can order glass reinforced belts. These will not break, they are industrial quality and withstand thousands of RPM and many hundreds of hours of working life. The biggest danger for timing belts is "not enough tension" This causes the belts to slip, damaging the belt teeth and eventually rendering it useless.

Last week I was in the Middle of the Caribbean sea at the very front of the ship on the bow (Freedom of the Seas). The front of the ship is kept dead dark so the bridge can see where they're going. The overhead sky - Sagittarius and Scorpio and the southern constellations we never see were spectacular. Would love to go to Namibia one day and when I jack work in, I intend to.
That's great to know Steve, as I'm off cruising around the Caribbean in the New Year.

Didn't realise you had retired Kev. I took the plunge 2 years ago. Never looked back.

Looking good Kev. With a bank holiday to help you progress.

Now that is a work of art, John. Can't wait to see it mounted and, of course, the first light report.

Just tried it Alan. No issues on any of the three targets I have tried.

I can honestly say I've never had an issue with the mosaic wizard, with either the v2.6 or v3. Have you had it working in the past?

It’s possible to aluminise, but you probably know the kit is very expensive, and specialised. An astronomy venue I used to visit ( Fieldview astronomy B&B ) had the kit, but they had issues with uneven coatings, and the pump took hours to produce the required vacuum in the coating chamber. Not sure, but I think they gave up on the idea. They also changed the business to cater for the birding community when the starcamp moved from Thetford to Kelling Heath and greatly reduced the numbers of astronomy visitors.
Ed.
Hi Ed
It must be my age. What I meant to describe was anodising and not aluminising. Being involved in Engineering for 49 years, you think I should know better.

I looked at dabbling with aluminising, but since retiring as an Engineering Manager I've lost my access to a toolroom and all the goodies I could manufacture. So it would have been a wasted exercise. Still I have kept in contact with all the Engineering and Tooling firms I have dealt with over the years.

Result!
My steplad just got in. he used to fit kitchens and he's found me a door with super smooth and flat laminate on both sides. Cut to size and soon to replace the base of the upper unit ?
Project's on it's way then.. I saw your thread on the fabulous manufacture of your Focuser, as yet to be aluminised. Now there's a project....Focuser for the DarkStar. It would look quite fetching in Cobalt blue.
