    Hi all

Very good gear from the reviews I have been reading. Really took the plunge and covered the bases with two outfits πŸ˜ƒ

    Hello!

    Hi from a fellow newcomer!
  4. Ah well that seems like a classic budget decision from SW
  5. Would you recommend a Barlow too? Or does this push the limits of the scope too far?
  6. Can you advise if this zoom will be for to much to use with a Skywatcher 127 Maksutov? seen lots of recommendations for it but it’s 50% the cost of the scope/rig!
  7. Do you guys the had/have the SW 127 Mak recommend any mods or definite changes to the standard equipment.
  8. I’m surprised the clamp can effect the result so much. I guess it says more about the lacking quality in the stock item.
  9. Just can’t help pushing that budget though. you’ve had an 8” SCT? Why change and why downsize?
  10. Wow ok, seems this has been thought about a lot before
  11. Yeah I just saw a chart and saw this. Shame. But at least it gives me time to build a rig 😁
  12. Oh perfect thanks. Lots to read on there. can’t wait to get fiddling and adjusting πŸ˜ƒ
  13. Yeah I had seen this OTA and pondered the same option. You’re right though, possible budget breaker. thanks though!
  14. Thanks all so much. Can’t wait to get stuck in. Brace yourself for so many questions πŸ˜†
  15. Will the SW 127 Mak take a crayford fine focuser? ...looks like there could be possible clash to the main focus knob.
  16. yes could be digging a hole that only a super sturdy mount will get you out of. And (for me at least) that might be a bit much for a first scope.
  17. would be interested to know if it's worth pumping the budget to the DX 6. I think the AZ GTi is accepted to be great and I can see it being far superior to the manual starsense item. It could be a decent way of getting a 6'' on a budget without too much mount cost. upgrade that later...
  18. Well i'm a sucker for a flashy bit of kit and was just looking at carbon fiber photographic tripods with the 3/8 thread. Will help keep the weight down when i drag this up Leith Hill πŸ˜†
  19. Are you reading my mind? ...was just about to post the exact same query! Glad I did a search first πŸ˜‰
