  5. Thanks i knew the PDS was better but astro photo isn't for me ,purely visual
  6. Ps the mount for 8se was only rated to 12 pounds and the 8 se weighs 13 so celeron must over build it
  7. I Have a eq 5 tripod in attic just can't be botherer when setting it etc after moving back into house then garden so if the se mount goes ,not too worried as I only use visually think it's worth a shot too see how it performs ...scope and mount for 5 se was only Β£250 so no great loss as scope is worth that solo
  8. I agree ,I've taken your advice ,not quite a dob ,but it will do ...oh wait according to the advert I've got mine back too front lol
  9. Bit like myself 😜
  10. Hi,all I've just restated this astronomy malarky .have treated myself to a 5 se grab and go and now a Skywatcher f/5 (β€˜fast’) Newtonian Reflectors 200p .have tried the 200p on the celestron goto for my 5se and was wondering if anyone else has tried this ,I'm purely visual the 5se has polar wedge and have tried a few shots on camera seems ok
  11. Ok so maybe need to send it back then 😜😜, have had it for 40 years now ,lifetime guarantee indeed ...still in its box lol
  12. No worries ,thanks for letting me know , I was a member before. Think it was dtr42 from what I remember .
  13. Was just wondering about a buy/sell section is there one ?

  16. Hi guys ,gave up astronomy about 4 years ago ,usual story divorce etc lol. Anyhoo after selling my 12 " dob ,my lx 250 and another 3 decent scopes and boxes off eyepieces.i find I miss it .have now invested in a 5 se just as a kind of grab and go. Hope to relearn my way about the sky . Old age is painful re learning stuff lol
