    Yea I am Seriously looking at the 127 but I hear the 5se is worth the money as the SLT mount is poor

    Lol:) serious bit of kit that ..I’m not that serious an amateur yet ..I’m only interested in casual back garden gazing and love the compact goto scopes cheers though

    Hi I’m not interested in photography so the whole camera issue is no problem for me I only want back garden observation For planets and stars etc

    In that case I may Go for the 5se as the mount is better the 6se is too expensive for me

    Just wondering if the Celestron Nexstar 6SLT would be a better option than the 5se?? More light gathering but lighter mount ..could always add a new eight to the accessories tray

    Found a dealer who has the Celestron 6 SLT in stock same apature as the 6se which would give me the capability for DSO ..mounts obviously not as sturdy but he’s advised it’s absolutely a fine set up for back garden observing and it’s £200 less than the 6se ..sounds an attractive option

    I think This has been really helpful thanks folks ...I think the 5se will be the one as it fits the budget a tad better and seems a better option than the 127 cheers all

    A 6 or 8 inch Mak ...?? not the Nexstar se series then ?

    Just as a price compromise would the Nexstar 6 SLT be worth considering? It’s a 6”tube so more light gathering ..but I guess the mount is a poor one compared tit he 5 or 6 se Nexstar range ??

    I’m not a fan of the dob personally - to big for me and I love the goto sky align system on the Celestron
