  1. Yes, thanks, I read that on CN and factored it in ๐Ÿ‘
  2. Hello @Louis D and thanks for the link. I use a prism and a x1.25 gpc already to achieve focus in a Mewlon. I just realised I can get the magnification I am looking for IF my BV setup will come to focus with a diagonal and no gpc - will try that next clear night. Another option would be to get the x1.7 gpc then I could use my current 25mmโ€™sโ€ฆโ€ฆ
  3. I need a pair of 22mm eyepieces for my binoviewers but the only ones I can find are Naglers and they are too expensive. I already have pairs of 20mm and 25mm Plossls. Does anyone know of other 22mm eyepieces that are currently available ?
  4. Perhaps as you have gone to mostly imaging it may be worth considering selling all your current scopes to raise a bit more cash to buy an 80ED ?
  5. No - because it is not a ยฃ500 refractor ๐Ÿ™‚ And it isnโ€™t Terrys - itโ€™s MINE ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚
  6. @Ian McCallum Just want to point out that your 8โ€Dob has Apochromatic optics and better resolution than any ยฃ500 refractor ๐Ÿ‘
  7. Eee by gum @JeremyS, that TSA120 looks nice ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Having owned a TSA102 and an FC100-DZ I can tell you they are - in my opinion - very different. Overall the TSA being optically better, superbly built, but a bit heavy.
  9. @Dave scutt I think I recognise your problem - assuming good cooldown and collimationโ€ฆ. The image is too bright. I had the same issue and found a neutral density filter sorted the problem - contrast increased significantly and so did planetary detail.
  10. @Gonzo0 This is an Astronomy forum, so keep the fine scope, get rid of the daft car ๐Ÿ˜‚
  11. Wow, another great photo ๐Ÿ‘ and your scope is a time machine too ๐Ÿ˜‚
  12. @JeremyS I knew you would get one ๐Ÿ˜‚ Congratulations ๐Ÿ‘ I had my 180 out last night and had my first look at Jupiter through it - I am VERY pleased. Once cooled they are very sharp and have excellent contrast. I use a USB powered PC fan resting on the spider to cool it down. Mine had image shift at first, but I fiddled with the focuser to adjust it to practically zero shift at x400. Once collimated (the screws are VERY tight) it stays put. I think they are fabulous scopes and comfortable to use too. Look forward to your first light reportโ€ฆโ€ฆ
  13. And finally, an old photo but I still have it - the FS128 ๐Ÿ™‚
  14. And here is my latest acquisition, a Mewlon 180 previously owned by Roger Vine who did a review on it.
  15. Hereโ€™s the FC100-DZ with itโ€™s More Blue tube rings plus carry handle.
  16. Off we goooooโ€ฆโ€ฆ.. TSA102 - but now gone to a good home ๐Ÿ‘ And here is itโ€™s replacement, a much lighter and quicker to cool FC100-DZ
  17. I just came in from looking at Saturn at x150 in a 4โ€ refractor and the view was very unstable, soft and low contrast. I could see some surface banding but could not see the Cassini division at all. I seem to have dreadful seeing where I live ๐Ÿ˜•
  18. That may be his twin brother ๐Ÿค”
  19. Sounds like a job for Doctor Takahashiโ€ฆ. AKA @JeremyS ๐Ÿ˜‚ As he has a TROOP of Takahashi's
