My first attempt at solar sketching

Took near enough 6hrs to complete due to cloud and rain but managed to get there in the end.

Sorry about the orientation but when I flip the view all the details end up backwards and besides I like it as I see it in me frak.

Thanks for members advice!

What a difference a day makes. Not totally sure what features on todays disk were there yesterday ??

I think I have sussed the shading for around the limb but trying to add the finer and lighter mottling of facula is near impossible. So far I end up with larger white patches where I have attempted rubbing out the shading which doesn't do the facula justice so I'm not sure I'll bother in future which is a shame as this is on solar feature I enjoy looking at.

Thanks Pat. I've had a go at night time sketching but it doesn't work for me. Going from the eyepiece to paper under red light felt like more hard work than it was worth so stick to webcam imaging for planets and moon. I like solar sketching as I can easily see what I'm doing and it's nice to be out in the garden on an almost sunny day.

Hi it can be tricky doing the moon but I enjoy it same as deep space stuff only had a crack,at the sun a few times but the FL of my sct made it gp hard to fit the sun in I did do,a,couple they on here some where ,by the way I like the shading around the edge gives it a real feel
