Owl cluster

Not sure if this is it's real nam!

Dug out the QHY8 and had my first real play with it. WO 80mm F6 with TRF 0.8 flattener, LPR filter.

The idea was to use an artificial star to play with spacing and filed flattening but the sky cleared and so plonked the EQ6 in the garden very roughly aiming north and so was limited to 15 sec subs (unguided).

25x15sec stacked etc in Nebulosity 3 with bad pixel map. Levels/curves and a couple of Noels actions (LPR, star colour)

Spacing looks reasonably good though there is a small amount of cropping of the frame.

Good to get out and play again.

That is the owl cluster, NGC457, and a very nice capture of it too.

Here's a crop. I do like this object and I plan to have a proper go with a polar aligned and guided set up :-).

i know it as the et cluster love it i allways have i quick look when am out with the scope

lovely image and inspired from it I am currently taking shots of it myself.

Hopefully it will turn out half a decent.
