DIY live view from dslr with no live view

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

My pentax k100d doesnt have live view and with its frosted view finder its very awkward to view what you are looking at and even harder to view and then adjust focus with a bahtinov mask due to the star being so small, So I got thinking and a couple of years ago my better half bought me a usb digital microscope and I tried it to view the image from the camera viewfinder on the laptop and wow its great, no more squinting and struggling to see the image, it works an dits simple.

and they are quite cheap, ive seen them on ebay for about £10.

All you have to do is hold the microscope camera to the eyepiece and focus using the laptop screen.

Kev.

Well done Kev, nice to be able to get round a problem, have you looked at a way to lock the cam to the eyepiece yet?

Jim

Not yet but give me time i'll sort it. It may look a bit rough but it will work.
