Halpha 6-pane mega-mosaic

Hi guys!

Here's my first take on putting together a solar-mosaic

I used data from the first time using the scope, 6 panes in total, and blending 'em together using photoshop. It was quite tricky compensating for the uneven illumination in the panes, but eventually I managed to create artificial flats for each, making the stitching/blending much easier. I'm learning new tricks each pane I'm processing, this is so much fun! Next time I'll have to learn the trick using seperate exposures for the prominences, since these are from the same exposures as the surface.

Excellent work Jonas.

Are you enjoying this new "sport" ?

On thing to note, it is always worth rotating/flipping the image to make north to be up and east to be left. Call it a convention for solar imagers. It just makes comparing images and details a lot easier. You don't have to of course, I always try to but often forget :(

Cheers

Ian
