The Sun today

Nice sun today.

In white light, a string of complex spot activity with some bright faculae.

In Ha, loads of proms - a great wall of them along the SW, and a large complex one on the SE. Just before 12pm I'm sure there was a very large faint string of an eruptive prom off to the NW. Not a lot on the surface though.

I was watching in white light through my 4" f15 and was impressed with the numbers of spots and the amount of faculae which youve captured nicely there.

Yes, another fine session on the Sun in Ha, plenty going on for everybody with the extensive sunspot display. Seeing rather more steady today and good contrast once the early morning contrail "rush hour" had evaporated!. Standard PST x25 & x40, 90mm PST mod x50 & x90.

Nice sketches Andrew, tried this myself on occasion, much more difficult than it looks!.
