First image from new system (yeah - it's M51!)

So after a few frustrating weeks of incompatible adapters and endless cloudy nights I finally managed to put some decent time into grabbing some data. M51 was my first test target as it's well positioned for me and is a good place to iron out the bugs in my technique. The image is only 3 subs (3x500s L, 3x250s RGB) so is lacking a bit of depth and clarity. I still have a couple of residual focus and tracking errors to fix. That said, I'm quite pleased with the result.

Cheers Lewis - it's probably collimation. I'd just BobKnobbed my scope and only done a cursory re-collimation. Having said that, I'm still chasing down a few issues with my imaging setup. Slowly eliminating one problem at a time.

James.
