Astronomy in Tenerife

Hi, I'm of to Tenerife for a week starting 17th April and would like to know if there are any astro nights available while i'm there.

Not the big observatorys, but any small local clubs that you could turn up to or pay to use the equipment. Or has anyone been on any guided astronomy tours in Tenerife?

Hi Gra,

The only folk I know down that way are AstroEduca in Gran Canaria. They do astro-tourism packages so may be able to help you out.

They're amongst the good guys, but I don't know if they speak English though. How's your Spanish?

A quick Google turned up the clubs "Grupo de Observadores Astronómicos de Tenerife" and "Agrupación Astronómica de Tenerife", also the shop "Alpha Cygni". Maybe they can help you.

I believe the Parador on El Teide has a 10-inch (or so) dob that guests can use.
