while i was at the SGL6 i bought a bressler messier 4in refractor and i need to find a spotter scope for it any suggestions ta

The only extra finder I have ever used is a Telrad. I couldn't think of anything else that could replace it. It is marvelous!

I'd receommend a red dot finder too Paul -much easier to use.

The Rigel QuiKfinder is a good RDF, is easy to mount on the tube and takes up little space as it has a small "footprint". I use one on my 6" refractor.

i hae a rdf but cant mount it in holder fitted to scope ,the one fitted to scope looks like part of the scope its self, i want to take it off but worried when the screws come out something may drop inside scope as i dont know hows its fitted

The advantage of a Rigel is that it has sticky pads on the bottom for easy attachment to the scope

If you want something that fits the holder on the scope it would be helpful to post a picture of the holder. (I've got 6x30 finder you could have, but the fixing is for a Meade tube )
