Removing blue outline on Saturn?

Hi all,

Is there a filter I can get that will remove this annoying blue tint on the upper edge of Saturn?

I managed to process most of it out in Registax but if anyone could recommend a cheapo filter it would be great. UV/IR blocking filter?

Before you go buying a filter, have you tried splitting out the rgb channels and realigning? It looks like atmospheric chromatic error to me - where the colours are shifted laterally (vertically) by the atmosphere.

Give it a go and see.

Well a UV/IR bblocking filter would help ... but so would imaging Saturn when it's at a decent altitude. For most of us it still gets to over 30 degrees when due south.

And please explain how you got rid of it. When I do an auto rgb align in Registax it is still there.

In the Colour Mixer tab under Functions when you adjust the final image you need to check "Create Luminance from RGB". The blue just disappears

Geat bit of info there, many thanks. I would never have found that, I gave it a go on one of my saturn images and it works a treat.
